Post Trace Routing?
Was just wondering if someone could explain exactly this does and how many hops I should be experiencing. ATM I get 19 hops on Elite and Main servers. Just wondering if thats the norm or not. I'm in Sarasota,Fl tracing the n00bfest servers.

When you send info accross the internet, it doesn't go straight to it's destination. It has to travel accross several networks. Each "hop" is a router/network you pass through on your way to the destination host.

The fewer hops, the better. Each hop adds some latency because each device takes a bit of time to process the information (even if it's <1-2ms).

I get around 15 hops to the main server since I'm in TX. It depends on how far away you are, really. That's why people in the south ping better on southern servers. Closer = fewer hops. Fewer hops = better.
