 Wireless..... who uses it? So I just moved into my new house this past weekend. And my office/man cave is in a different room than my internet hookup. Now, I'm very familiar with wireless networks and such so I'm not asking for all the technical shit. All I'm wanting to know is, who uses wireless for gaming? I got on the DM server yesterday and it seemed fine to me. Any issues that anyone has had? I've always used wired networking for my gaming computers, but I think I might be using wireless for a while until I get my house wired.

Wireless Will do you well considering that in MOST cases 802.11g/n is a faster connection than the connection to your ISP unless your paying those CRAZY department store prices for your fiber-optics. Im using a wireless router for everything in my home and my ping is average to pretty much everyone else.

Re: Wireless..... who uses it? Yeah, I've only ever used wireless while I've played on n00bfest, and I rarely have problems. If there are interruptions, I just restart the router/modem and bam, problem solved.

You will probably add a few ms to your ping on the server if you are using wireless, but unless you are a complete CS stud its probably nothing you will notice as far as gameplay as long as your signal strength is not weak.

Re: Wireless..... who uses it? I use wireless cause I got more than me on my network also haven't had any problems unless internet goes out cause cable company can't keep lights when we get 20mph winds >.<

Re: Wireless..... who uses it? I use wireless at home. I used a cisco e3000 router, baller as F*CK. I have no problems with it until an excess of people get on the network, because my shitty bumblefuck Delaware internet that shuts off if it rains too much can't handle it :D

Re: Wireless..... who uses it? I use wireless as well with very few interuptions, I wil catch the occassional interference on my 802.11n wireless network but I believe that is mostly due to roomates signing on or passing by and blocking the signal with other electronic devices.
