So the new MMO Final Fantasy XIV is up for preorder at gamestop. It comes out on the 22nd of september.

I loved FFXI, but it seems like this one is quite a bit different.

I think the biggest issue for most ppl and why FFXI didn't own WoW in the US is that it was hard. You couldn't really solo unless you wanted to take 15 years to level. You needed a dedicated group of hardcore players and the aggro control and stuff was a lot harder to manage than most MMO's.

FFXIV is supposed to be much easier for the more casual players, which is better for me this time around.

I pew-ordered and get it on the 22nd. I'll let you guys know how I feel about it before the official release on the 30th.

I soloed like a champ in FFXI but i was a beastmaster so that was pretty much all i could do i never got invites.

I get off work at 7am that morning so I should have it as soon as the box gets opened at ebgame. so by mid afternoon I should be able to let you guys know what it's like.

High system requirements for the PC is what i heard. Loved FFXI

Probably going to have to wait till a port to a MAC or 360 version comes out :/

So far I am playing the beta till it comes out. It is pretty good, there are lots of things to learn and still quite a few bugs they are working out.

that is where the torrent is u can use utorret or something else to download the patch then copy it over into the patch file

I am having problems installing the damn game. I keep getting a Win32 error saying the ffxivsetup.exe does not exist.

Hate to necro bumb a thread that hasn't been posted on in over 2 years, but FFXIV A Realm Reborn is in beta testing right now. Its come a long way since v1.23 and is looking better in each phase of beta testing. Looking at about 2-3 months before it goes to a live launch. If you liked XI you should really try it out. Though you should keep in mind its not XI, its similar but not the same. Me and my wife will be playing it through the beta phase's and onword if your interested I am always willing to help people out in the game and such. I'll be keeping my character from v1 when ARR comes out so will have many high level jobs to do the helping with.
