was wondering if anyone out there could offer me some advice on what to try next??

I haven't been able to connect to the nOObfest cs:s server all day, played last night with out any problems, can log into other servers just fine but when i try to connect here it tells me that it fails after 4 retries...

i've restarted/updated steam, restart my pc, modem and router....after that i'm lost....

im having the same problem.

also are you trying to connect using your favorites? or the server browser?

Have you tried typing in connect ip:port in the console?

have you guys tried deleting the client registry blob?

Go to C:\Program Files\Steam (or the Steam directory that was specified during installation).
Locate ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob.
Restart Steam to allow the file to be recreated.


There may have been a steam update and the server hasnt been updated. If you were running different versions it most likely wouldnt let you connect.

I've tried connecting from both the favorites and the server brower, also just tried connecting through the console and deleting the clientregistry.blob file, still no luck, i can view the server status from the browser and can see the game info, who's playing, score, time connected, but just can't connect myself.....grrrrrrrrr

I had this happen to me. I just waited like 2 hours, and did a reboot, and that's all it took.

I believe there was a Steam update. I couldn't get anyone to respond to me this morning to restart the server and Strange forgot how to do it. Any way that you could do it or ask someone else? I'm currently at work.

still no luck, i know steam is having some other issues today, but if it was an update wouldn't there be more people having difficulty??

I restarted it but i didnt have an issue getting in before i retarted. I did get an error i never got before but it was related to a sync issue with my config and steam clound...

Yeah if you restarted the server that was my last hope....I tried to get in again just now with the same result....frustration is getting the better of me....hopefully steam will get their sh*t together....otherwise any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Steam is shitting the bed pretty hard today, just wait it out and play tomorrow.

I can play on other servers... But it's just not as much fun...


recently tried uninstalling steam and counterstrike:source and reinstalling but still having the same problem, can connect to every server but this one....

okay so here's the deal...i can get into any server but this one with my network untouched, however, when i take my router out of the loop i can get into n00bfest just fine....which is fine for me but will surely annoy the wife and daughter....anyway, i hadn't changed any settings in the router or anything prior to having this problem, and since then even restoring the router to its original factory settings hasn't made any difference....

just wanted to thank everyone that tried to help with my problem....being technologically-retarded, i can use all the help I can get.

I played a few rounds with my router out of the loop and now with it reconnected i can join just fine....let the suckage begin....

Maybe you could try doing a 27015 port forward to your IP on the router.

It shouldnt be an issue because i have tried other servers that use port 27015 and it works fine. Maybe a server restart is in order?
