I'd like to have a thread where everyone posts a utility that they really enjoy using, or have just discovered and think it tops all of the others they have used for a particular purpose.

I'll go first:

I was looking for ways to improve my fps, after installing the Chris MaxFrames config, customized. I don't have a video card, and so I need to get as many frames out as I can. I found a utility that temporarily closes unnecessary processes and can also detect your computer hardware and find updates for chipsets, network and graphic cards. You can also do a bit of customization.

Never knew it went free. This was posted on ESEA a long time ago and I've been using 2.41 because back then it was a paid program and if you updated the crack no longer worked. Great program, glad you posted this.

I have a folder in my documents which includes "portable apps" which I like to have.

The two main ones that are useful are WNetWatcher which checks the wifi ip spectrum to see who is all on the same AP.

the other is a portable version of WinCDE which is a virtual driver software. I like it because it's well integrated into windows and only needs to be booted up to be used and closed when you're done. It stays off the system drivers list unlike if I had the full install version.
