You like them, i like them (old albums only) people love them, people hate them, who cares, theyr new music sucks (for me), and i dont need to go to strums and lars not using his double pedals and simbals and all that shit, i think they became too bad that it was pretty F*CKING obvious, not even a genius at music knows that, yes they where influential, yes they where great, yes they sold a lot of albums, but face it, they are done, the sad thing is that they cant go back, i dont know if in theory going bad its automatically being good, we dont know, but what we know is that they fell from a lot of pedestals, and fortunately for me i have all theyr old albums, and i downloaded them from torrents, so suck my C*CK Lars.

Glad some people agree with me. I absolutely love their older albums and St. Anger and Death Magnetic aren't AS good but you can't just hate them. They've gotten old and still can make music, bands don't usually last as long as these F*CKERS. They've been out even before my existence was thought of. Point is, their music isn't as good as it was before but it's decent. I personally like what they did with Unforgiven III.

i was just saying were pretty much beating a dead horse. Come to think of it, the only time I really listen to Metallica nowadays is when I'm in Strange's car.

I still dig Metallica, but my musical tastes have shifted to more classic/bluesy sounds. I'm a huge fan of the Black Keys and damn near everything that a "Black Keys" pandora radio station would play: Cream, Hendrix, Stevie, White Stripes, CCR, etc.

Things I can't stand: Women singing Country music, 95% of techno, rap/hip-hop with absolutely nothing clever or insightful about it (e.g. pretty much any rapper other than Dre/Snoop/Ludacris/Aesop).

If you guys haven't listened to Metallica S&M yet, you really need to. It is by far my favorite, it's just some of their old songs with a live orchestra, its pretty much a masterpiece.

BTW....Angry, Blue Scholars and Atmosphere are two of my favorite rap artists. The Roots and The Grits are pretty kick-ass as well.

I began listening to Metallica in 8th grade or so, when Justice came out. Why I liked them then: the music had a primal energy and a message that I identified with. I bought their previous albums and they were great. Solid strong metal.
Nice bass on Justice too, man cruise with that shit cranked was the apex of F*CK the system and cram your rap shit up your pooper.

It turned me on the the genre so I got Megadeth (a slightly more technical band but not as edgy), Sepultura (strait deathmetal roar), and Slayer ( a hot ass mix of everything with mild satanic overtones ).

When the black album came out I was mixed, it sounded different, like they were trying too hard. All in all though it was a good album and I like alot of the songs. Through the never is probably my favorite song off the LP due to the driving riffs.

After that, meh. Again it seems like they try too hard to pull something off. It's not bad but not the same. Yes change blah blah, older blah, evolution yeah blah. It just seems to me that I'll be enjoy'n one of their new songs then WHAMOOO the song morphs into crap without rhythm, then it changes back. It's like one of them said lets add some shit that don't make sense to this song right here, like ummmm some 80 year old chick yodeling off key and outta time.

The new LP i like and am happy with for the most part.

funny you say that, because i was a bigger fan more of the Call of the Ktulu more. I though it was one of their better instrumentals. I'm in love with Orion, Ktulu, and To Live is to Die. but im pretty sure that mustaine and burton were still around during the old ktulu time.

seems like to me that it was a back-forth relationship with hammett at that time. but i know that eventually they kicked mustaine out, and mustaine was super F*CKIN pissed about it, and then my favorite album was born.
