Weakest argument by far: "What's the point of instant replay if you don't go back and watch the play within the final minutes of the game?"

Problem is, ref blew the whistle so people stop playing. It doesn't matter who was closer to the ball, you can't possibly know what WOULD have happened had he not blown the whistle. So that makes instant replay useless in that situation.

One guy went on to say look into the instant replay and see who stopped playing based on their motion and hesitation. WTF?

We could have gone to an instant replay had the down been played out. THEN you go back and see what happened prior to the end of it, you can't speculate as to what COULD have or looked like what SHOULD have happened and fill in the play.
