Whatever. I have a friend who lives there and he says they have like 5 or 6 malls in that area already.

A waste of who's money? It's just an investment on the part of realty groups, who would otherwise be "wasting" that same money on other development projects. At least they're using it to build something sort of interesting instead of the same old strip malls.

Consumers that shop there will end up paying off the investment, and they're not particularly "wasting money" either. They're just spending $100 at this new shiny mall instead of spending $100 at one of the other "5 or 6" older malls.

Also, I think THIS (click) might have something to do with why Europeans have that strange view of Americans.

Judicator kinda beat me to it, but waste of money? This mall is only going to make them money in the long run.

The project is based on a similar design in Madrid, Spain. They had their's first.

Of course it's a waste of money. They could have given it to ME instead of reminding the world why they hate this country so damn much.
