Post Final Project
My final for Digital Painting was a background for an animation. I decided to make a chase scene through a renaissance-ish city.

I made the list of actions as well.

1. Heroes jump from the balcony and land sliding down a few feet on the tile roof. The two thugs pursue.

2. The heroes stop and begin to throw some of the large tiles at the thugs to stop their advance, the thugs block and continue.

3. The thugs intercept the heroes and a skirmish commences, one is felled and slides off the roof to the ground.

4. The heroes continue to flee and run out of view for a brief moment, then can be seen running up the lower roof of the tower building. They pause desperately looking for an escape route, then spot and tumble through the window nearby. Thug pursues.

5. Chaos grows as the heroes and pursuer enter a home and begin to "tear up the place." Finally, the remaining thug is thrown through the rightmost window breaking through the glass and plummeting. Afterwards, more thugs appear from further back in the room and the heroes are forced to leap from the another window into the alley below.

One thing you might want to look out for - you put a great deal of detail into many parts of the background. Shadows, colors, etc. Then in other parts you just have a pencil-esque sketch. Depending on the teacher, you might miss some points because of the different styles used in a single background.

Take a look at the details above both sets of triple windows on the right. Looks great to me and fits perfectly. Good perspective and everything. But if you compare it with the windows themselves or the detailing on some of the other areas, they almost look incomplete.

I think it looks awesome, personally. Just wanted to give some tips if your teacher is a hard-ass.

Good Advice. The truth is it IS somewhat incomplete. I barely finished it before the deadline on the last day because the night I was working on it before my Grandma passed away so I didn't get any time to work on it. I intended to texture the walls and the inside wasn't how I planned it to be, neither was the lighting, but I have a hard time going back into something once I "finish" it.

Looks good to me and what I was going to say was already said, the walls could use a hint of texture. Anyhow your ability still impresses me.
