Everyone says the Romanian or WASR AK-47 are a true AK but generally suck balls but are cheap. My buddy as an Arsenal Arms AK with a milled receiver that is basically indestructible. The Saiga is more known for the shotguns but are now becoming widely popular in the .308, .223, 30-06 and the 7.62X39. They also come in 12, 20 and .410 gauge.
Biggest drawback that I have found is not all AK furniture or accesories will work with my gun unless I modify a tad. If you know a little about AK's you'll notice my trigger groups is about an inch farther back than normal. This was done before it was imported taking away the full auto. I can get a new trigger group from Tapco and make a few mods to make it auto BUT THAT IS ILLEGAL! I like it the way it is so far. Maybe in the future I'll start screwing with it.
