Why would someone sell me a 6Mbps connection with puny ass bandwidth allowances? I'll switch back and forth from cable to DSL as the rate wars rage onward.

The people this will impact the most is those of us who have no competition. I have one choice. Mediacomm. If I switched to DSL, it would be nearly 1/4 of the speeds I get now, not to mention I don't have a phone, since I use my cell for everything.

Not only that, but if you've ever read comments from higher ups in telecom companies, they seem completely oblivious as to what customers want.

The CEO of ATT said a few weeks ago when questioned, "Why should we offer higher speeds? Our customers don't want them."

to be quite honest, if it was an uncapped, balls to the wall speed but with a data limit then it MIGHT be ok. If its still the same ole shitty 10mb bullshit theyve been feeding us for almost a decade now then I will definitely be doing as buzz says. Switching back and forth. Some DSL companies have been quoted saying that they are not going to be implementing this kind of bullshit.

Cable companies will soon bee like cell phone companies, charging you way too much for the amount of service you use or hitting you with huge overage fees in the long run.

Things like streaming video rentals from netflix and itunes will take HUGE hits in this area and will most likely be killed by it if this becomes the new standard.

Just another ploy for these F*CK sticks to make money, they dont give a shit about that gay 5% of the subscribers using 50% of the bandwidth stat..its about the the $$.

The real hit will be people who like to download tons of stuff (like me). I can't imagine how many gigs of bandwidth I use on a monthly basis. I'll probably need a plan that offers me at least 30 Gigs a month.
