OK so I am trying to ply css like I normally do but today I play for a min then ithe screen goes black and freezes and I get a message from my monitor, not tfrom the comp it says mode not supported. I have no clue what mode I t is talkiong about I havnt changed any thing, I have to nvidia gforce 7600 gt, running sli, but like I said the message is ifrom the monitor, not my comp, is my monitor fucked?

check resolution settings for the game.

it's either that or just a random error, that happends on a rare occurance.

I dont know it happened 3 times in a row, my in game resolution is 1024X768 (lcd) I believe, I will have to double check

Only time ive had that problem was when i was trying to use a refresh rate that was not supported.Make sure the box is checked that says only display rates that are supported in your gfx settings.If that does not work then download the newest drivers and install them.There was a update to the source engine last week so there may be a conflict with your drivers.I did hear of people complaining on the futuremark forums of problems like this with DoD and css.I know after the update i lost a few frames.

What exactly is the error message?

If it's saying there was no input detected or whatever then the problem is that your graphics card feed isn't getting to the monitor.

Tell us the message and we can probably be of more help.

But, Super's suggestion is a good thing to try regardless.

I figured it out. The fan on my main gfx card was locked up and my card was running hot, evga is sendeing me a replacement fan, if it not too late for the card

That message means that resolution mode is not supported. Someone might have changed ur game config and changed graphics resolution. Just get the resolution to any lower and it may work good

I dont think the fan failure can do that (Dunno, never saw it)

If this things dont work, buy a new Power Supply.

it was the fan, I am running sli and the gfx card the my monitor was plugged into was the one that the fan went bad on. the temp on the card got up to 80 degrees i pulled that card out diabled sli and it worked fine
