Hey yall know the statue of David by michaelangelo? Should that really be considered a work of art? Everything else that's kinda eh famous like the mona lisa too. I think a work of art should be something that brings out the most from a person, whether it be emotion, action, thought, or inspiration. I really don't see how something like the mona lisa or four cans of chicken noodle soup shaded different colors would appeal to the masses.

Edit: By work of art I mean like "masterpiece," something that people would think of when they think of great pieces of art.
