Well, I asked you guys about my problem about 3 weeks ago. I tried a bunch of different things. To refresh, I kept gettting a "Net_SendPacket Error" I googled it and tried everything from adding vcache in my system.ini, changing the heapsize in cz properties, checking for firewall, updating drivers, etc.

I had the internet people out and told them that this had to be worked out. They said it was not a modem or cable issue. So I took it to the computer guy. He has had it for almost 2 weeks. I even went to his shop and played on it to see if it would throw that error. Nothing.

So I took it home yesterday. I plugged it all in, and of course, the problem is still there.

Quick recap.

- I played it in his shop for an hour and no error (the error would occur every 20 minutes or so, so an hour is plenty to check)
- I downloaded steam and vent on my other home computer, and the same error happend.
- I hate myself

So do you guys have any last minute tips before I end up punching my own throat? The cable people say that it isnt them, and the computer guy says that it isnt the computer. I am starting to think that it is Canada, because this never used to happen until I moved within a state of the border.

Any words would be great, encouraging or otherwise. Even if you tell me "It's ok rajun, you'll figure it out soon. See what happens when you dont run the client." I am a step away from thowing my $3,000 machine out the window. I am only on the first floor, but I figure if I throw it hard enough I may get a bounce out of it.

To get to Classical view, you go to Control Panel and in the left margin at the top it says 'Switch to Classic View' or you could just click 'Network and Internet Connections' and then 'Network Connections' at the bottom.

What kind of router do you have?

Wired or wireless?

You could also try resetting winsock and the tcp/ip stack...not sure if that would help though....just something to try.

I am not running off of a router yet. Just the modem. And even when I do run off the router, it is wired not wireless.

Modem doesn't have a name, I looked everywhere including the box.

As for the router, when everything is working well straight from the modem, I am going to use the one that I always use. WIRED to my computer, not wireless. And then have it wireless to two other computers throughout the house.

Sounds strange. If you have used the computer to play Counter-Strike for so long, most likely that's not the issue. It does sound like it's your ISP's fault. I had a similar problem, but it was with my router. The error was similar but after I tweeked with it, I would just loose my connection to steam.

If I were you, I would try to get a different modem. Hopefully, you have more cable companies and you can "threaten" to switch if they're not willing to work with you.

TONS of suggestions on the net for this, but it definitely sounds non-computer related. It's definitely something in your ISP, modem, or router.
