Okay...been looking at newegg again, for 256 cards now, at GeForce 7600GS. Anyone heard anything about those?

edit: yeah the 7600gs is good, but i recomend BFG Tech cause they offer video cards that are already overclocked

Alright...so I checked out the three BFG Tech 256 7600's. Out of the three, the two more expensive ones sounded best to be.
Now, me, being the computer illiterate bastard I am, I would probably choose this one:

the reviews say the fan can get kinda loud. That's the way I'm seeing things. lol. Any help with this now?

actually the second one is much better if u meet the system requirements (i assume u do), the loud fan is all preference, i would not mind it as long as it is good

I would think it does...the only thing I dont know about is my power supply. I keep looking around to see the wattage on mine, but I can never find it. This system seems like its pretty kick-ass...so I would think its a good power supply....

does the power supply have a brand name/serial number on it, u could search the website of the company that makes it for the serial number (if there is one) than u could find the wattage.

I'm sure it does. Now if my forgetful ass actually remembers to ever open up my computer to look in there, that's a whole nother story....I'll have to try that though.

Okay...so, next question: If I got this card, would I need to get the full 2GB's of RAM? Or would just getting one more stick of 512 suffice? Or just buy one stick of 1GB of RAM and leave it ready to upgrade to 2GBs? The more and more I'm hearing you guys talk, the more and more I'm thinking I dont need the full 2GBs....

how much do u have now, if 512mb would give u 1gb get the 1gb stick, if a 1gb stick would give u 1.5gb that fine, or if u want u can get the 2gb. I have 2gb on my laptop and 2.5gb on my desktop (my desktop still sucks though), but my laptop is great. I g2g for the night ill be on tommorow

Right now, this thing came stock with a stick of 512. It's not doing the trick with CZ. It takes me about three minutes to load up onto the next map, making me miss the pistol round, which, in turn, makes me very upset because that's my favorite round. My last system, I had it upgraded to 1GB, and it seemed fine. But this new system comes with a Dual Core Processor, so I kinda want to try it out and see its full potential (hence the 2GBs of RAM that I wanted).

Sorry to bring this one up again, but I got another quick question. What is the difference between "system memory" and "desktop memory"? The RAM I'm looking at says system memory. Will that affect anything?

So....I finally got all my upgrades today. Everything seems to work perfectly. I'll see how it is while gaming tomorrow night (would have tonight, but the damned UPS guy didnt show up until 8 tonight!). Thanks for all the help.
