Post Bandwidth and Lag issues
So, my big homo brother is downloading 4 different BitTorrents of Captain Planet and other various children's shows (the entire seasons and movies), and it's taking up all of our bandwidth, which then makes me get 400+ ping in all n00bfest servers. I was just wondering if anybody new of any way to get around this?

Yes, I googl'd it.

oreX hsa a special router that puts gaming packets infront of other various packets.

Other than special equipment, I don't think there's any way around it than to just secretly turn off his computer or tell him just to download while he's sleeping and you aren't playing.

He seriously has something wrong with him. He won't go so far as to touch CZ, or even Source.

you can set bandwidth limitations, set download/upload to about 100/50 kb

or something like that, it may make u lag still but not as much as 400 :)

you could also just right click and put pause all torrents :)

i use utorrent, and it has a schedualing feature were at certain times it goes full throtle downloads while other times it does minimal

for example

12pm-8pm minimum bandwidth allowed for bit torrent

12am-12pm maximum bandwidth since usually no one is using the net at that time (as in an example)

Yeah well, he didn't want to because "I couldn't prove he was wrong." But yeah, thanks for that utorrent thing. I'll hafta let 'em know. Right now he's using the bittorrent generic client I think, or bittornado, or both. I honestly don't know. But thnx.
