 Any ideas?
Okay, here's my story.
I had an old motherboard with an old processor, and one night it just shut off and wouldn't come back on. My CPU fan had quit working and burnt up my CPU. So, I bought a new motherboard and processor:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=2018
And, a new CPU fan:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... =S457-1017
And installed them both and hooked up all of the IDE cables, power cables, etc. I didn't hook any cables up to my CD drives/floppy drives because they are crap and, well, I just wanted a basic boot to begin with, before I started adding drives and shit.
Come to find out, I turn it all on and get no BIOS, no video at all, no beeps, no nothing. My harddrive is not spinning at all. As soon as I get a chance, if I do before Monday, I'm going to hook it up to a different computer and test it out.
Any reason why this computer should not be working? I've pretty much ruled out:
Graphics card (tried 2)
Monitor (tried 2)
Power Supply (green light comes on motherboard, fans all work correctly)
RAM (I've switched them all around - haven't taken one out and then the other yet, I will soon)
Motherboard (green light comes on)
Processor (brand new, wtf?)
So, if any of you smart people out there that know their shit when it comes to computers, this is for you. I'll be dropping probably $80+ to take it to a shop Monday, because frankly, I'm tired of F*CKING AROUND WITH IT!
F*CK!
(people I would like a response from: Pred, Super?, Gman, LV, anybody who knows shit about computers and has built or worked on computers before)
Thanks, and F*CK,
-Cody

I'm pretty sure it's the hard drive.. so.. yeah. Still need to test it, though. I have an old computer (the one I'm on now) I could use to test it on, but the harddrive is buried under the CD drive, Floppy drive, and another big piece of metal (it's like a little 12" case, everything is all bundled up).
Any ideas? I've replaced all of the IDE cables with brand new ones that came with my motherboard, also.

Just because the lights come on the mobo does not rule out the possibility of your powersupply dying.. I would try a new PWS first.. make sure you got Pin1 to Pin1 on the mobo and same thing or the cds and hdds..

Yeah right after you left shorty got on and I asked him, he said that the wires for the powersupply might have melted. I didn't realize your cpu burnt out I thought you were just replacing them.

Your power supply has a 4 prong power connector that has to be plugged in for the AGP slot to work (Mine does anyway) and on your mobo is located top right of your CPU. Also, check your battery.
As usual make sure your RAM is compatible, make sure you put your thermal paste on the CPU, but it sounds more like a video problem, most likely that connector. As far as your HD's not spinning, idk what to tell you, make sure they're jumpered right and plugged in the right IDE slot that the bios is configured for. Even try unhooking them and turn it on.
