OK Peeps, something is up with my computer.
I used it yesterday around 3 pm, all was fine and dandy as ever.
I get home this morning around 3 and notice the PC is running, but nothing on screen. So I turned it off, and back on and still nothing on screen,...................................So I took this laptop I am using, plugged my screen in it, and the screen works.

What do I do? Seems that my lovely POS computer isnt sending out a signal to mister screeny. SUggestion??

Are you getting any beeps?First thing i would try is to start pulling pci cards,like network cards ,sound cards and such.Also try taking out 1 stick of ram .

Mandy's computer did that two weeks ago. The fan on the chipset had died, and thermal protection kicked-in.

Took some work, but I got a new fan installed and got the booger to fire back up again.

Yeah, it makes no noises, just turn ons, lights flicker like normal on PC, just no picture. I shall try these things when i get home today. Thanks

may want to have a spare pci video card in hand.

I would start by removing and reseating video, sound, nic, memory, and any other devices you have pluged into your board.
(please note this only applies if these devices are not on-board devices)

that was my dis-claimer for smart asses.

if you have an AGP card it may have become unseated.

I know right, how annoying is this.......OK,this is my housemates desktop i took over....it is a stock HEWLETT PACKARD (POS) PAVILLION 523n. It has a shit load of memory I know, and that is about it, otherwise its stock HP shit. This is why I cant wait till dec when I get a phat ass computer!!!!!!!!!!
