I guess I'm wrong.......in only assuming this to be the only simple and straightforward piece you have made. Idk honestly that other poem just seemed more serious just by the matter of which it speaks. In terms of it having depth or anything that'd make a song/poem interesting, it is wanting. I feel like depth and all those wonderful things come from allusion and word play (among other things), simply rhyming or speaking in a serious tone doesn't make a song/poem deep or w.e your going for. I think you need to stop taking poetry lessons from William McGonagall and try to put some effort into your work. It might help that I don't read much poetry and I'm hardly attempting to be clever with wordplay. It is obviously straight to the point, and I like it that way. _________________  |
