So as soon as I hit "Submit" I'm going to burst
in to flames. It wouldn't all fit in the subject line so eat me.
Seriously. Democrats control the House and the Senate now.
I cannot express how pissed I am. I don't want Republicans in control either, but atleast they support our troops. Jesus Christ.
Well, I'm going to be barbeque now, so I'll catch you guys on the flip side.

The Democrats think it's going to, but I doubt they have any kind of actual plan to do so. It would be the same way if we had a presidential election right now, and the Democrats won. Nothing would change...it can't really just change at the drop of a dime because Democrats took over, like they want to think it would. I guess you could say I'm a Republican? Never really thought of it. lol.

There really isn't that much difference in democratic/republican policy in terms of what they will actually do. The democratic plan is to "create stability and withdraw troops as soon as possible" well what the F*CK do you think the republicans are trying to do... its not like the republicans want the troops in Iraq forever either its just that "creating stability" is easier said than done.

I actually wanted to see a 50-50 split in it, but that isn't going to happen now that independants said they are with the democrats, so I said screw it, don't matter who takes the last seat now...

Thats still a possibility, its 50dems - 49reps and the one undecided could technically go either way. If its a 50-50 split the republicans would have control because the vice president gets to decide in the event of the tie and Mr. D|CK Cheney isn't going to vote democrat until after he is dead.
(silly filters)

But neither do the republicans... :?
I voted for Webb in VA, GG last state to be counted
perhaps we should only allow independents in office
that way people can't whine about people supporting the war,
but nobody can whine about people wanting to withdraw all the troops
it's kind of like a happy medium where everyone except extremist bastards are happy.

Indie's get counted as Democrats in every election. In most cases they are twice as liberal as the democrats. What hurt the republicans most is how they won the last couple of elections. They built a platform on national security (and the war in 2004), and moral values. It only takes a couple bad apples to spoil the bunch. The liberal media and the bloggers took the republicans legs out, and regardless of how they campaigned or even what they stood for, it just wasn't going to be enough. Foley really did a number to the whole party.
To be perfectly honest, most people were voting against Bush, and not for the candidate. It's not the right thing to do, but I believe that is what happened.

God. If you're under the age of 40 or gobble up the bullshit diseminated by the media about issues, stop posting in my threads. I don't want to read your mind numbing horseshit when I get home.

I agree this isn't the best way to handle/elect the government, but IMO a Republican majority who followed Bush into this war doesn't deserve reelection (of course, there were democrats voting for it, but that's what you get when you live in a country run by C students...)

I say we elect Epic the creators of GoW and that their first act in office would be to create weapons like in said game, so we don't have to fight wars we'll just threaten to with mass genocide.

the only way pulling troops out of iraq is going to work is if the dems have been working with terrorists all this time.
you don't just fight someone then during the middle just stop and apologize when they threw the first punch. Logic! logic! *sigh*

the problem the republicans have is we havent been standing up and voicing our values and our morales like we should have. unfortunately we had bigger fish to fry, unlike the dems looking for every inperfection.
this election shows alot about america i mean there wasnt landslide victories in the states that where close. not only that most of the newly elected dems are more in the middle than left. the ppl still want morales and values in government. alot of republicans didnt even vote because they would rather not vote than vote for the republican candidate.
bush is a good president and i honestly think he loves this country, but over time the dems have wore him down and he isnt as str8 forward as he used to be. he has tried to start many programs and they have been shot down and i think it has wore him down.
few things to get ready for:
1) taxes are going up! its a fact dems will not make the tax cuts permanent. if they return to what they where before 2001 we are looking at around a 50% increase.
2)no more good judges that dont legislate from the bench. the rest of bush's appointes are not going to be confirmed.
3)anything that passes thru law that is good such as immigration, border security, and anything good in iraq the dems will take credit for.
but here is the thing guys if they dont produce they will be voted out just like they came in. america is tired of empty promises and we will show it at the polls.
i have to go back to work lol
