Assault weapons ban to expire Monday!!!

Ten years after it was born out of the carnage of three California mass shootings, the federal assault weapons ban is fading out of existence Monday.
Manufacturers look for a boom in business as people buy up previously banned weapons like AK-47s, Uzis and TEC-9s

That weapons ban was a sham anyway.

You could still buy an AK-47, just not one with a flash suppressor or a bayonette lug on the barrel.

Whats the point of not having the ban....who really needs assaut rifles? And dont give me that mumbo jumbo shit about the right to bear arms...that shits crazy, yes we should have the right, and I love the right, but for christs sake, not like some red coats are gonna come marching over and try to take us over, we're america, oddlly enough we have the right to bomb your country if we see fit. SO yes, lets be able to keepo our precious hand guns in case and thieviery AFRICAN AMERICAN tries to break in my house, and lets keep our hunting weapons so we can kill bambi and friends for stew...but do we really need the right to own a gun like am m4? Maybe when some country actualy sends foot soliders here then I wil rethink this, but we do not need to be like the citizens in countries like iraq wondering around with ak-47s m4 and guns of such nature...their society might demand it, and maybe since they have such guns it just helps further increase their hostile nature...but here, in USA, no. We (america as a whole) seem to be evolving past that need to feel more safe by owning such powerful guns.lets just keep up evolving socially, and one day, their might be some more peace on this planet. :twisted:

The reason there's no point in extending the current ban, is because it's worthless.

AK-47 rifles were still available. What's the point in having a weapons ban that doesn't ban weapons?

All it did was limit clip sizes, make threaded barrels and lugs illegal, and other worthless shit.

I think weapons like that should still be available if I want to get one, but there has to be controls and monitoring in place. If there's a waiting period, background check, license requirement, or some other monitorig in place, I think that's great.

People that want weapons for "bad reasons" will always be able to get them. They need to be difficult to get, not illegal.
