 Upgrade time
Getting tired of nto being able to use voice on this computer except for a crappy uncomfortable Logitech USB headset. Time to upgrade. Any suggestions on relative value?
Here's what I was looking at so far:
Antec 1200 been happy with my 900, but needs a bit more room
Antec 1000W Trupower P/S Any suggestions here?
i7 920 faster processors don't seem to be worth the bump in price
4870 X2 or 2x 4870 in Crossfire Anyone know what the performance difference is here?
12GB Corsair Tri-channel. For the price and scalability it's worth it to me.
Asus P6T MoBo
I'll probably keep the HDD I've got in my system now.
Considering getting a Blu-Ray combo drive.
I'll also be looking toward selling my current system. I just have no idea how to price it.
Antec 900
Q6600
8800GT 720MB
8GB RAM
MoBo/Soundcard won't take mic input for some reason.

nice man, as far as a power supply goes I would just go to newegg and bring up power supplies and select Free Shipping and Top Sellers at the top and just pick from those.

If it's all clean and hasn't been beat on too bad I'd say you could get between $500 - $650 if you have the boxes and shit.

You have serious memory leak problems if you think that you need 12GB of ram. Once you get over 6GB of ram you aren't going to see any improvements unless you do a lot of video edits or picture editing. I also agree with Vision on the power supply, get something with good reviews with probably >700W for your system.

Look at some of the reviews on the interweb between the top cards out there. They say the new GTX 295 is going to be the next 8800. So you might want to look around when it comes to your vid card.

It was probably one of the worst $209 investments I've ever made. I find it is extremely hard to play video games with a giant dick in your ass.

Yeah, I would go with the GTX 295. It's the best money can buy at the moment.

I'm in Cali from April 1-5 on a business trip (#1 in the company last yr woot), but I'll get the specifics of my current system when I get back.
This is basically what I ended up with:
Asus P6T MoBo
I7 940 processor
12GB Corsair 1333
2x 4870 in Crossfire
CPU water cooling kit
1TB in Raid 0
About $2300. Wanted to stay under 2k, but this should last me a while. And I'm not sure why I got the 940 but it was only $200 more so meh.

I suggest newegg.com as well. Thats where I got my laptop, and its kickass, plus it was very cheap for the quality.

This right here = Total failure. My case has two led's 120 mm on the back cause thats all they had and a 80 mm on the side cause it was a left over from the case after replaceing all the fans. O yea i for got to say led's are gay.

Haha my case is so weak so it amplifies the sound of the fans so i have to turn it off at night Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_21. But that's what i get for putting 3 40 cfm fans in the front and on top. My power supply cables were a tad to long so i mounted the fan on the out side
Lol not bad cable management for using twist ties a.
