 Dude...VistaI was always against it until I got bored one day. I installed Vista on both my desktops and omg I actually F*CKING love it. I'm a dumbass for not upgrading earlier, but im glad at the same time because most of the kinks have been worked out as far as i've seen. I built my desktops strictly for media and gaming. The direct 10 mixed with an Nvidia physx core F*CKING rocks and the gadget bar....don't get me started.
I won't look down on those use XP, I'm not judgmental, but if it's not 64bit you're a fag :) |

You have an AMD Athlon 5000+, no?
Try running CS: Source under Vista, I'm curious to see what your frames are. Mine were fine, up until they'd drop to 30 fps randomly. |

Vista fails HARD. I tried to upgrade to vista, and my video card stopped working even with drivers. Turns out Vista rewrote the kernel enough that so you can't run an AGP video card with a dual core AMD chip. Funny thing is the Vista compatibility checker thingy didn't say a word about this massive incompatibility.
