Well, I tried to get into the main server Saturday night and because it was packed I waited to join for about 5 minutes. While I was waiting, I went ahead and joined the N00bfest North server to check it out, and of course nobody was on that server. By this time I had forgot about my window still open pending connection to an open slot in the main server, when suddenly I got into main. Since it was packed I asked if anyone wanted to go checkout n00bfest North for the heck of it and Peanut and Rage said let's roll.

So we go to nN and of course had to wait another five minute to DL maps we did not have already. Then once we get in, we could not talk to each other or even see each others admin chates or spammed csay comments. etc. No sprays, No Dr. Kliner sounds, No fun...

Now since we had started playing nN, others started joining to play. But since I could not speak or type to anyone on the opposite team or alive on my own team, I could not give any admin warnings or instruction.

I know this server is setup for CAL, but it's not getting used that much and won't retain pub players that decide to pop in. If that's kewl, ok, but if you want to get more players on it and make it an overflow option to the main server, you would need to set it up kinda like the old elite server which was setup almost identical to main with the addition of AWPs.

Also I don't know what the hell you're talking about when you say you couldn't run admin commands.

Have we got an updated map pack yet? I join and my map will DL but then it will say something like, de_contra unable to load, your version differs from that of the server. (de_contra works for me on that server I just used as example)

I installed the map pack that Jar posted earlier, but he said something about all maps not being including.

I think the only ones he said he didn't include were the beta ones that were on the server (they aren't in the rotation though, you'd have to rtv to them).

Is it just me, or are you intentionally trying to sound like a total asshole here? The server is struggling and people are offering suggestions.

I said the opposing team does not see them, at least that's what Rage had indicated when I asked him later if he saw any of my ma_chat ma_say or ma_csay text.

It's a cal thing so you cant sit there and nade spam or buy new shit.
I like the way the server is set up so far it's nice the only thing better would be a 100 tick but it seems to run fine to me as is. Also sence we dont have a shotty map anymore or scount knifes I was thinking we should put thoses two on the other server so we could play them from time to time. Not in roation just on the normal server not the north server.

I liked the server, but I cant play there because with my already shatty connection, the non-100 tick doesnt run anything close to smooth on my comp Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_32

Im going to go out and ask it but what does 100 tick mean anyway? I know it's something to do with better pinging to the server or something i dont know the details anyone know?

100 tic is how fast information is sent from the you to the server and vice versa. If it was 100 tic I would only play there. as for maps enable fast downloads ;) and admin chat works to every one, I've been there multiple times.

Yeah are server could be 100 tick but then we would have to drop it to like 24 people or something and that would just suck. So i rather leave it at 66tick.

i like durango's points. having a "CAL" type of server is a good idea, but do we really get all that many cal players on a regular basis?

i think changing it up to be more of a laid back atmosphere while still maintaining the competivness of it would be a good idea.

theres nothing wrong with all talk if the people playing understand that it is a more competitive server and talking is more frowned upon.

But do we really need a second noobfest... I thought the point of this server were for those who didn't like all talk, and had different maps. If you play only stock maps and added all talk it's is the same as the original noobfest. If you want to play like that go to noobfest, but there are more players who like North the way it is, it just needs more support

The little small team-clan I made (for a TWL League), we occasionally use the server when we're practicing for a little open fun.

Like today, we were on for a good hour and a half, and the server quickly filled, on Dust2, and Inferno.

Like what state in the other thread, fast downloads, would pawn.

I have been in this server for the last 2 days an have invited all my steam friends (all three of you) and nobody every plays in here. Cmon people, my ping is amazing in this server.

Maybe we should all play on north instead of main~ =D
make a movement/revolution... =P
Something like this occurred with the Elite server when CZ was the thing.
So, people started to play on Elite and kept playing there, and people would just join us. it had seemed like it was main server.
but yes.
i enjoy the north server from time to time.^^
