Do you have some examples of servers running this? Is it a mod? Not sure where you're coming from.

There is one server that I know of right now that runs this type of server. Now I don't know what you mean by mods. But I'm not the only [n00b] that plays there. If you would like to play there to get a feel for it just pm me and I'll get you the I.P. address. But I will warn you now though. There rules are strict and everybody follows them. It's nothing like n00bfest. Now I'm not trying to take people away from n00bfest. I love the community that is there. It is a very friendly environment when the game is being played correctly. It would just be a server where some people could just unwind and have some fun.

Nah I'm not talking about taking away from n00bfest, it's just I've heard about the Tactic Mod, like, you do less damage, and it's on a certain map and you can have like, one sniper or all that kinda crap.

Yes there is one sniper per team(scout only). I don't know about the less damage though. I've died just as quick there from being shot as I have in n00bfest. There is a command that you type into the console so that you can bandage your wounds ONCE. The reason is because you will bleed out after a certain amount of time. It's just like real life except for the fact that after you got shot you wouldn't really just go jumping back into the fray of things. The other thing I like is that all talk would be turned off. The only people that can hear you is your own team. If you want to check it out, like I said just pm me and I'll get you the I.P. address.

This tactical server sounds a lot like other, better FPS games.

It is actually quite fun. Think of the one shooter that you have played that required tactical thinking and there you go. The elite servers are just like that. Trust me, I don't think people would be disappointed once they gave it a shot.

Once the CZ elite server went up in the old days, I played in the main server maybe two or three times over the course of a 6-9 month period and spent the rest of my time in the elite server.

I would probably exclusively play on the elite server if we were to get one for Source. The main server is just way, way too laggy.

We're starting to lean so off track that this might deserve another thread, but we might have some of the lag issues resolved.

Server was switched to 66 tic last night. It was still pretty laggy, but it seems to have stabilized really well today! I was playing earlier with 32/32 players and it was completely smooth.

I still need to do some tweaking of the log file settings and admin logs, because those things could possibly cause some memory paging or HD writes while the game server is running. Somehow, some way, these bastards will give us the 32 player server we want without the lag. I don't care if they have to dedicate the entire machine to it.

I could cause you some lag issues, maybe tonight, but since this is the right forum, i wonder what corpse penis looks like.

C'mon guys! Please don't get off track of why this post is here. I can understand why corpse made a comment, but trust me, I don't want to take away from the orginal server. Like I stated before, I love n00bfest because of the tight community. But please stay on track and let me know what you think about starting an elite server for those that would like to take a short break from the fast pace, just shoot'em up and better your rank type of playing. Thank you.

Like Gman said I remember the cz elite server. I loved it and was on it all the time. But at that time we needed 2 servers anyway because we had so many members playing.

I hate pubs because i always get gayed thats why i scrim any chance i get. I hate pub mentality of not completing objectives, camping, and letting your teammates die just to get a kill.

I dont know what sort of timetable has been established for the n00bfest clans to start scrimming but when the time comes we'll need a private server for scrims to play against each other and other clans. I'm sure that will suffice for those who want to play a more tactical style game.

Instead of focusing on a tactical server I would emphasize getting the n00bfest clans started and figuring out how to get a private server started, whether its with clanservers or not will be up to those who are willing to pay to keep the server running. Also, some clans may even pay for their own private server as we've had in the past.

I'm sure n00bfest will lay out groundrules for their own private server . At that point those who want to scrim can gather in vent and scrim. Of course there should be rules in place to stop people from switching clans every week but I'm sure there will be an allowance to let people ring for clans who are short of people at the time.

I like where you are going with this Vision. That would actually be a pretty f*ck*ng good idea. Now all we have to do is find some people that would actually want to do it so we aren't wasting our time with it.
