I have taken the server down to have it reduced from 100 tic to 66 tic. As I understand it, this may help with the chronic lag problems we've been experiencing for the past several months. 100 tic servers aren't meant to handle this much traffic. I also changed the stats updates on the front page of the website to only show daily top 10 lists instead of hourly. Downloading the logs every hour could contribute to some of the spikes. Once I finish downloading all of the files for backup purposes, I'll have the host re-launch the server in 66 tic mode and I'll start uploading all of the files to restore all settings. Should be done before most of you bums get out of bed. _________________  |

So what do I need to set all of my rates in order to work best with the new server settings?
Is it as simple as "cl_cmdrate 66" and "cl_updaterate 66"? Or should they be set based on MY framerate or something? Anyway, I seem to remember changing like 6 values before, but I cannot remember which ones. Too much conflicting information on the Internet. I'm relatively sure that 99% of the people on the Internet don't know what the hell they're talking about (myself included, and that applies to everything *I* just said). Damn it my head hurts. |

we're having the same problem with voices....everyone sounds distorted like anal said, the others playing agree......lagwise - no problems at all
