no don't do that ........
just change the settings on your video card so that your refresh rate is above 60
that will fix the problem

a) Are you running on Vista?
b) Did you recently download an update for AOL Instant Messenger?
c) Do you have pirated Microsoft software currently installed?
AIM dropped a huge fuck-up recently where their newer updates corrupt all kinds of Windows files that turn your media files to shit. It even freezes up certain functions (ctrl+alt+del, msconfig, etc) and roll-backs are really hard to do. If you did download a recent update for AIM and are running on Vista, reply.
As for option C, I'm not 100% on this yet, but word is out that Vista purposely gay's up your computer if autoupdate is left on and it registers pirated software on your system. This happened to me and I had to do a total reformat on my laptop because I couldn't open any files at all. If this is the case (doesn't sound like it, though), reply.

Might be some type of gay codec too.
My desktop used to do that off and on.
Pissed me off something fierce.
