EVGA GeForce 7300GT 512 MB
This is the first im going to use an nvidia VGA card. I just bought one earlier and I installed it in my brothers computer. I read the quick install guide carefully and followed the steps. I plugged the card on the PCI-E slot and turned the power on (yes, I disabled the integrated graphics before the process incase you guys might ask about it) and then all these weird pink, yellow, red and green stripes appeared all over the monitor and less than a minute the monitor shuts down. I redid the entire installation process about 5 times and same shit happened. At first I thought it was just the monitor but I tested it with another monitor, it did the same thing. Could it be that this gay ass nvidia card is defective? What do you guys think?

Anyways. I've already tested it to another computer and sadly it really needs to go back.
I'll just go get an ATI Radeon card for my brothers computer, like I always do.

There may be a plugin on your motherboard that you need to plug your power supply into. It's small, should have 4 prongs in a square. It's tricky to find.

No, the card doesnt need to be plugged INTO THE POWER SUPPLY and everything in my mother boad is ok and plugged in.
I returned the VGA card and they even gave me a gift card for all the troubles. The card really was defective and they didnt told me that it was an OPEN BOX ITEM. I got a Radeon x1300 pro for about the same price and it did ok. So, case solved. Thanks for the replies!

I've always been for ATI and I owned countless ATI cards and none failed to satisfy my graphix needs.

did you try to boot into safe mode?
you might be having conflicting driver errors

Yeah I did it in safe mode too, same shit. No there wasnt any conflicting drivers. My brothers intergrated was also Nvidia. But I removed any drivers that he downloaded that has to do with the graphics display no matter what type it was.
I could open bios and windows but the display is all blocked with these weird colored stripes. I am 100% positive that the card has factory defects (I tested it in another computer and same shit happened) and so is the Electronics center who sold it (they tested it too).
