so any tips for a Tournament newbie?
I'm guessing I can't do my normal rush in get a few shots off hope for a lucky one before I die...

You usually your team will choose a strat caller and he'll scream shit into the mic and you listen.

i can make it but maybe only as a ringer. i won't be home until 7:30 EST saturday.

My style is like yours. So be prepared to be completely out of your element.

Like Tazz says, do exactly what your strat caller says and try your best to get 1 kill before you get raped. Even though you're going to be playing out of your element (rushing) you can still play smart.

Patience is hard to have when playing a game, but is crucial for competitive play.

Tell me about it, I am playing ArmA II, and it's hard as F*CK to convert to that strat/simulater shooter type to a run and gun like CS:S....and even in CS:S I F*CKING rush

will rates/interp be forced for this or will i have to go kill a kitten in the middle of it

i don't know if forcing rates is possible, and even if it is the tourney severs will likely not force rates unless it is required by CEVO or one of those competitve gaming leagues.

you can force rate/update rate and I think cmd rate not sure but as far as ihnterp goes you can't, so I suggest that every team ensure their interp is set right personally before the games begin

To teh newbs who haven't been in the tourney/competitive play tips:

A) listen to your strat caller, word, for word. Don't run unless told to, don't do something unelss told to. If you're caller is acid and you don't listen, prepare to get your asshole chewed out like a mother...

B) Have fun, and if you have questions talk to some of the experienced players

I can remember when CLOROX didn't listen during a n00b vs n00b scrim. I'm pretty sure he cried himself to sleep that night.

most leagues have always required cl_interp .01 which is the main one im concerned about. The default setting is like .1 now which causes terrible reg

Ok so basicly do what the guy says at all times.
Is team chat run on vent or through the in game thing?

eitehr or, vent is main but usually game chat is also done, depends who you have/how they prefer etc..

Be in vent 30 minutes before the tourney to allow for setup, vent will be where you get together with yoru team, but if someone on it can only use ingame thats what you'll end up with.
