The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream...

SHOCKING Obama in his words and his own voice: what he really thinks of white folks. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_21

Did Michelle pick her nose in that interview?

Did he disown his white grandmother - No

Did he disown his brother - Yes

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... Kenya.html

"Same blood, same pain, same father who abandoned them when they were children. But one of the two is running for White House, and the other lives in a shantytown in Nairobi. George Hussein Onyango Obama, Obama's forgotten brother, the younger and the more unfortunate, never permitted anyone to get close to him, but he has passed one day with a Vanity Fair journalist in the ghetto where he lives: «No one knows I exist» has declared."

George Hussein says he lives with less than a dollar per month and that he's ashamed to be Barack's brother.

The two brothers met the last time two years ago in the occasion of an african promotional tour by Barack: "It's been a short encounter. We have talked. It's been like meeting a stranger."

Did he disown Rev Wright - Yes

Did he want to disown Rev Wright - No

http://www.whudat.com/newsblurbs/more/b ... 680430081/

“The person that I saw yesterday was not the person that I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe that they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate, and I believe that they do not portray accurately the perspective of the black church.

They certainly don’t portray accurately my values and beliefs.

If Reverend Wright thinks that’s political posturing, as he put it, then he doesn’t know me very well and based on his remarks yesterday, I may not know him as well as I thought either.

A 20 year mistake in which he attended and donated to this church and had this man he does not know marry he and his wife and then baptize his children. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_37

http://isteve.blogspot.com/2008/04/in-2 ... ights.html

In 2007, Obama gave $26,270 to Rev. Wright's church. That money goes to expand Rev Wrights mission of Black Liberation Theology and anti-american sermons. Obama is guilty by association and his financial donations to his chosen church of worship. <--- read those words carefully...

And what about what Obama wrote about Wright in 1995...

http://blog.vdare.com/archives/2008/05/ ... t-in-1995/

there has been much speculation about why Barack Obama closely associated himself with Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. for two decades. Much of the speculation has been ill-informed.

So, for the purpose of better informing the American electorate, I’m going to quote below, at greater length in the link, from Chapter 14, pp. 274-295, of Obama’s 1995 autobiography, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

A secretary buzzed, reminding Reverend Wright of his next appointment. We shook hands, and he agreed to have Tracy prepare a list of members for me to meet. Afterward, in the parking lot, I sat in my car and thumbed through a silver brochure that I’d picked up in the reception area. It contained a set of guiding principles-a “Black Value System”-that the congregation had adopted in 1979. At the top of the list was a commitment to God, “who will give us the strength to give up prayerful passivism and become Black Christian activists, soldiers for Black freedom and the dignity of all humankind.” Then a commitment to the black community and black family, education, the work ethic, discipline, and self-respect.

A sensible, heartfelt list-not so different, I suspected, from the values old Reverend Philips might have learned in his whitewashed country church two generations before. There was one particular passage in Trinity’s brochure that stood out, though, a commandment more self-conscious in its tone, requiring greater elaboration. “A Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness,” the heading read. “While it is permissible to chase ‘middleincomeness’ with all our might,” the text stated, those blessed with the talent or good fortune to achieve success in the American mainstream must avoid the “psychological entrapment of Black ‘middleclassness’ that hypnotizes the successful brother or sister into believing they are better than the rest and teaches them to think in terms of ‘we’ and ‘they’ instead of ‘US’!”

Which brings you to my other thread addressing the "Black Value System"

and then there are still these major issues and questions

Bill Ayers/weather underground Connection
ACORN Connection
Black Panthers Connection
Rezko Connection
Fannie Mae conection
Why he voted against the war
Why he voted against troop funding during a time of war.
Why he wants to reduce military spending and advancement of our missle systems and space militerization programs.
Why he does not support nuclear power.
Why he does not support drilling.
Why he wants to raise taxes on the wealthy and redistrubute wealth including his Global Povery Act/Bill.
Why he may be ineliglble to become president since he was actualy born in Kenya.
Why he says one thing and does another regarding his integrity to take the high road.
Why he did not choose to disown his pastor/uncle until he ran for president.
Why feels his limited experience qualifies him for the job.
Why he voted present instead of taking a position.
Why he has not track record of reform or going against his own party.
Why he did not choose Hillary for VP
Why he favors bigger government when congress has a 9% approval rating and vet hospitals and the IRS are examples of how government fails to administer programs.
Why he will not recognize the surge success.
Why he did not wear the flag pin or say the pledge with hand over heart and offends the military yet thinks he can be commander in chief.

I can go on...

I don't understand the big deal with Rev. Wright. There was a very big congregation there. Is that to say everyone there have the same exact beliefs as Wright?

People change over the years. You can see that at your 10 and 20 year high school reunions. Even if your good friends with someone it doesn't mean your up there ass and know everything about them.
I would imagine that Obama's day to day is very busy even before he started running for President. I don't think he would be able to keep up with everything Wright says or does. I'd like to know the size of Wright's congregation 20 years ago. I'd imagine it was no where near as big as it is today nor did he have the influence in religious circles as he does now. It takes years to establish yourself like that and many people 'change' when stuff like that happens. I say 'change' because they don't really change, in actuality their just showing their true colors.

If Palin's granddaughter isn't going to be a factor in the election, then it's not fair for Obama's brother to be. What goes on between them is their business and their business only.

If a man says, I love God, and hateth his brother [or his sister], he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother or sister whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? I John 4:20

Why don't we pull some quotes from the Bible about marriage?

Sure, but are they relative to this discussion and how?

http://www.scripturemenu.com/BibleVerse ... topicid=75

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

—Genesis 1:26-28

Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

Genesis 2:21-24
So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

—Genesis 2:18

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.

—Proverbs 12:4

He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord.

—Proverbs 18:22

Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun.

—Ecclesiastes 9:9

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

—Matthew 18:19-20

7:1 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

—1 Corinthians 7:1-5

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

—2 Corinthians 6:14

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

—Ephesians 5:22-33

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

—Colossians 3:18-19

So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.

—1 Timothy 5:14

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

—Titus 2:3-5

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

—Hebrews 13:4

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.

1 Peter 3:7
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

—1 Peter 2:25-3:2, 3:7

LUK 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits
adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

I was thinking more along the lines of verses like this. If a "liar" is bad on your list, where does adultery rank?

Good question, I almost think lying might be worse and more harmful overall, specially if one commits adultery then lies about it. But both are subject to your beliefs, so if god does not exist, and religion is a farse (zeitgeist), then all these versus and biblical policies, really don't hold water.

I could provide you with information that would indicate that man was never intended to be monogamous. Just a few indicators are sperm count, canine teeth, and studies on women and lubrication. google it. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_19

I'll defer you to study the Silverback apes... and not penguins.
