Ya I've been listening to hopsin since tech put him on "Am I psycho?" and he has been blowing so much since then. Its good to hear an actual rapper who raps about stuff that matters unlike all the young money and mayback music mainstream shit. If you have havent already I would check out the strange music rappers like tech n9ne, krizz kaliko, prozak, stevie stone, ces cru, mayday, and kutt calhoun

Well no shit Hopsin is underground he doesnt do it for the money. That's why he is signed to an independent music label and not a major music label. You still can't say he is not blowing up because each of his music videos has millions of views.

To be fair, I still haven't listened to this Hopsin video. I'm not as big of a fan of tech n9ne as I am of Immortal Technique (who I initially thought you meant when you said "tech") but I'll give it a listen. And full disclosure, I think I've heard about one or two tech n9ne songs and I didn't really listen to them. Furthermore, my entire basis for not listening to them is because his name is tech n9ne.

I enjoyed the Hopsin video (solid diction and syntax, as far as rappers go). Much respect for you Tazzaler regarding those Wu links - they are timeless. Here's my contribution to the hip hop theme, with a message similar to Hopsin's:

I love tech n9ne he was one of the first guys I saw perform live and his real name is Aaron Yates, tech n9ne is just his stage name.

I know this, but it's the fact that he chose the name tech n9ne as his stage name that is off-putting to me.


I listened to this video (Ill Mind of Hopsin 5), it's good. Initially it took some listening to actually like but his lyrics are truth and good. That being said, and because y'all is pointing me toward tech n9ne as being similar, I'll get over his stage name.

I really enjoyed that video, but he's got some learning to do.

I agree with acid, Hopsin is pretty skillful, but he lacks true wisdom.
