Raw footage of the moon from my Nexstar 8SE - Video
It's going to be boring, but I worked on getting it done. I have a CCD camera, and I hooked it up on my computer, and captured this. Beware, this is raw AVI footage, uncompressed, so it runs at about 1.4 gigs after you extract it. However the RAR is set to "best" compression, which makes it a meer 261MB. It's pretty badass, though. It's pretty much the best you can do without being in the middle of nowhere. This was done right outside my front door.
What did I use? My Nexstar 8SE, with the Nexstar NexImage CCD camera attached to my beast computer. From there, I ran Celestron AMCap which is a video capturing software for the CCD, then simply focused in on the moon until I could see it on the monitor, and captured that image at about 15 FPS. Please enjoy, as the next stop will be Jupiter, in full color. Let me know what you think about this. (There is a huge portion in the middle of the video that has nothing in it. Don't waste your time, and fast forward a bit!)
