http://gizmodo.com/357541/microsoft-rum ... s-may-2008 Rumours were circulating today that Microsoft is set to dump HD DVD and bring out a Blu ray Xbox 360 by as early as May 2008. The move will allow the Company to go head to head with the Sony PS3 gaming console which has been credited with being one of the main reasons that retailers have preferred Blu-ray over Toshiba’s HD DVD. |

Maybe they should release 2 consoles. One with HD DVD and one with Blu Ray just to say they have the most variety of one console and cover everyone. |

isnt BluRay a sony based product like they make blu-ray and if that is true that merge will never happen sony wouldnt sell the right to use blu-ray to microsoft it would kill there sells. |

I'll tell ya, I'm afraid to buy any of this HD crap until they decide on one. It's like the Betamax and VHS tape wars back when I was a kid. If you take a gamble on one, what if you're wrong?! They need to pick one already! |

Shit won't work itself out. Consumers are just tired of these F*CKING format wars that make everyone lose. That's why there's such a stalemate. Kitstrodamus predicts that within a year they will be fused in to a single disc that plays in either player. |

It'll probably be obsolete in a couple of years anyway (if it isn't already) before they have it worked out. I've read they already have a CD that can hold a TB worth of info. Are those even sold yet lol. And how long will installation take? |
