I was in a TF2 server a while back that I got banned from and on their website they had a ban list that was accessible to everyone where you could see the last 20 or so STEAM id's that were banned and you could run a search for a specific id. They also had a reason box, admin that banned you,and a spot for a demo for gray area bans. Not really a top priority thing that could be added, but would probably be useful for people that are accidentally banned(like mine right now that Tucker needs to unban me every time that I play) or are trying to get some other type of banned overturned by giving them information that is required in an unban request thread. They would also have a better chance at getting unbanned if the reason is "being a douche" and they thought that you banned them for shooting you in the face since those types of people come in here wondering "wtf was I banned for? being too good? LOL" and ends up staying banned for something stupid instead of them knowing and actually apologizing(probably not, but maybe) for being a F*CKING dick. Just did a search for "tf2 ban list" to try and find the website. Not sure if it's the exact one, but it's close and is really nice. http://www.tf2newbs.com/sourcebans/index.php?p=banlist Actually shows how long the ban is and if it's expired, whether the STEAM id/alias has been previously banned, how many times it's been banned, their community page, when the banned happened, and if they have been unbanned.. The more I look at the page, the more badass it is. |

/support, it does look really nice, and spyda's reasoning about that people wouldnt know, and then might come off on the wrong side is pretty good. |

I think acid was doing something like this. I actually was a test dummy. He made it work. He altered the Admin Menu and then when banned it said "Please appeal your ban @ http://www.blahblahblah.com" On that site it showed the Box like spyda talked about. I support the possibility. But its not a huge priority. |

Yeah, fomenta has an application in development that will give us some pretty robust admin management and ban management features. It's a lot more feature-rich than sourcebans, and is platform-independent. Different parts of it are being rolled out slowly. We'll have something like sourcebans out in the coming months. Only a lot better. There has been some talk of another website redesign within the next year so we can incorporate some more of these awesome features into what we've got, but as of this second, we don't have any immediate plans to do so. Also, that ban utility doesn't have anything to do with why you're getting banned like you are. It is an issue with our symlinked banfiles and the cached bans in the server memory. |

Sounds fancy, even though I don't have problems with being banned too often, I think only twice... No, I don't want you to make it three times mossy. Also, fomenta sounds like a programming god or something, F*CK. I have to admit I'll miss being able to read some of those rediculous unban requests, but when fomentas banlist is out, I'm sure I'll be able to admire that instead, good stuff. |
