Just some thoughts...

All-Talk - In it's current state you can hear everyone, all the time.... Sort of makes strategy or anything like unto it obsolete. Perhaps make it so only the dead have all-talk with each other? I've seen it on other servers and it works well.

n00bfest is a gaming community, so we leave all talk on to allow players and members to talk freely. the server has been structured this way for years. players are supposed to be quiet when they are dead. if there are any problems with that speak with an admin. if you want to strategize use team chat and type.

this IS and option, but it inhibits corpse's (and mine) view of what our gaming community should be.

when players don't STFU when they are asked to it's the same as violating any other n00bfest rule, and admins should take action accordingly. as long as dead players have respect for the alive players and STFU when they are asked to then there is no issue. if the dead are talking and the alive don't mind then let them talk. i've played numerous times where dead players are having conversations with alive players.

Okay... I havent been in the server in awhile but it makes no sense to me... If you are dead you are not allowed to talk. So whats the point off having alltalk. why not just have dead and alive talk being seperate

Cause the rules are STFU when dead or whisper quietly when dead. I do believe that is the rule.

in a simpler, more understanding way to put it...

now, the part that gets brought up in question and ppl complain about it, which is usually from new-commers to n00bfest, (do you ever see someone thats been here a long while bring this up?) is why we have all-talk if we dont want ppl talking while dead right?

well, we use all talk because we have a public gameing server. a place where ppl who dont like the strict rules of competitive servers go to HAVE FUN. part of this fun is being able to talk with your friends whenever you want.


those that have been here awhile AND have been aropund the game as well as the server know the difference between times to talk while dead and times to stfu. once you learn the difference in when and when not to talk, the whole stfu when dead thing is really irrelevent.

like with me, if you are talking while dead and its not bothering anyone cause the server is just having fun then i dont mind. but when your talking makes playing the game less fun for the majority of the server thats when ppl get pissed and say "stfu when dead or ill ban you"

I think a lot of you are getting too aggressive on a new guy for asking a legit question.

Alltalk is pretty damn annoying, the only people that dont get in trouble are the admin. Well, because they can kick and ban you and you cant back to them.

I just do voice_enable 0 and have to live with playing some Source and getting my Lol's from what people write in the text box.
I know I probably miss some hilarious stuff being said, but its not worth the annoyance when admin are not there or dont care, and we have mic spammers on.
