n00bfest Server Suggestions:
1. Add de_contra to the rotation.
2. Add de_contra to the rtv list.
3. Different map rotations on different days of the week.
4. A few new maps would be nice. When de_contra came out, there wasn't too much hassle when people needed to download the map.
5. cs_italy, and de_cbble need to be in the rotation also.

Elite Server Suggestions:
We need people in there. I may just idle in there and wait for people to come on and play with them. (Does the server come up when you do a server search?)

italy and cbbl are there so do your homework and read more posts.

contra manages to almost kill the server EVERY time we play it.

map rotations dont mean crap with RTV enabled, we never make it thru a rotation.

elite server is dead because there arent any pubbies to abuse there... only n00bs... lets do the math 15 hard kills, or 25 and 2, hence ppl go to n00bfest.

Best suggestion ever: One set or rules for server admins. either we warn kick ban, or we all abuse it till a higher up comes on, problem with plan b is that a few of the guys with immunity abuse the hell out of it, desperately trying to justify thier existance thru thier admin power, so then the new admins follow that example.... dont get me wrong.. those who support the community, SHOULD have more power, they put in the time to make this what i walked into.. But surely there a more appropriate perk for time served.. wanna seed the elite server? make it a standard pub, but give the admins free reign, bet there'd be a few ppl there alla time..

on another note why not kill the elite and use the cash for a 100 tic pub? again, i havn't been able to donate and am not trying to overstep.. just seems logical to me

I noticed last night that our main is a 100-tic. I'm not sure when it happened but it seems to let me set my settings higher and I noticed a huge difference. So I think it is 100 tic.

If the main server is not 100 tic or if we're unable to support the higher cost I'd like for Corpse to let us n00bs know and I would definitely donate some of my loan money to keep the main 100 tic.

Well, we may need to get a little less creative to get some people playing in the Elite server. It might be better if we go with a standard map rotation and throw in a custom or odd map just every now and then so we can get some regular play in there. It would appear the map rotation is too far off the norm for average players to hang out.

The problem is you can't download the elite maps I've only ever seen 1 person other than a n00b on and it was cause the map was compound.

Christ, it's an easy ass fix. Just use the same map setup at the main server, rtv and everything, but leave the awp unlocked. There you go, done! People will play, and you can feel like you're elite and use the awp. Or just let it keep sitting empty, whatever makes more sense I guess.

ok ok, my suggestion for main server... can we change the set up so there is a vote at the end of each map rather than the rotation? this would allow the current players to avoid going to maps they may hvae just played or dislike and keep more players on the server for longer periods of time.


also, to touch on one of skull's ideas, i think it is possible to have a different map rotation each day of the week, and i think it might be easier than what corpse thinks. i know mani admin has a "crontablist.txt" file where you can set up the server to execute certain things depending on the day and time of the week. this could be a way to modify the map rotation without having to upload a new mapcycle.txt file every day.


another idea for the 1337fest server could be to set it up so it can run any game/mod at any time depending on what a player wants to bring up a vote for. i had an old GG server that could change GG modes on the fly if a player brought up the vote and it was passed by a majority of the players on the server. just an idea. let me know if you want/need help doing anything as i have a good amount of experience setting up game servers :)

I'd like the 1337fest to be a funmaps server. I missed that server so much. Iceworld was great. I've played on this one mcdonalds map on another server and that would be something cool on the server.

I like purple's idea too. Changing game modes on the fly sounds fun to me. The last time I used the 1337fest server was to clan battle *420*
