So I had this idea.

What if n00bfest had body apart from the elders strictly for voting on issues. Such issues would include:

• New n00bs
• New Admins
• Admin Promotions
• Admin Demotions
• Server Changes
• Community Changes (expansion to new games, etc)
• and other issues.

We've currently got a group of n00bs called "Major Contributors." Their initial job was to come together and brainstorm issues and new ideas with the Elders to make "fun and exciting" changes to n00bfest as a whole. The Major Contributors group consists of just that: n00bfests's major (monetary and resource) contributors.

That group's goal will be to take ideas from this Open Floor forum and brainstorm with each other to try and come up with new ideas or interesting things to do with n00bfest and the resources we have.

Ideas that they have will be presented to the "n00b Council" and will be voted on.

The n00b council will consist of Tucker, Judicator, and three to five to seven others. The other council members will be either elected or appointed (I'm saying that some will be elected and some will be appointed, not that the selection process is in the air).

Council members will serve a term of either 3 n00b votes or 3 months - whichever is a longer period of time. Every third n00b vote or third month, there will be new council members appointed and there will be new n00b votes. Council members elected and/or appointed will not be eligible for re-election or re-appointment until they have spent one (perhaps two?) term(s) "out of office."

Tucker and Judicator will remain permanent members of the Council, and their votes will break ties. If need be, the Elders may vote on an issue to break any ties.

CorpseHumper and myself will hold veto power over any issue or any decision.

Only n00b admins will be considered for n00b council.

So...That's my idea. What do you guys think?

I like the idea. Sounds like something that could really be useful to take away some of the stresses you Elders have ;) I'd be up for something like this, since I've been around awhile now....

Is this just helping the Elders with decisions and such? Maybe just to make n00bfest more democratically correct. I don't know. I'm just young and stupid. But just thinking out loud...

It's like another set of elders. Most of them have reasons to why they aren't around as often as they used to be. This will be taking more of the active people in n00bfest, that know the players and admins, and giving them the chance to make a difference in n00bfest.

The elders do not get to see all the [rct]s and admins since they're busy doing other things, so how can they be as effective voting whether they get n00bship or adminship (or promo/demoship)

It sounds like a great idea to me. It makes sense to have a few other active members contribute.

Sounds good to me. Well thought out, with all that goes on in and around people's lives (assuming some of you losers have one) the elders can't always be around and get together and vote on issues in a timely manner.
This process I think will help to alleviate some of those issues, and, with n00bfest expanding like it is, we are going to need more and more people's input into which direction the community is going. And like we have been seeing the past couple of days with more and more people flocking to our banner it's going to get's too stressful and time demanding for just a couple of people to deal with the likes of which we have seen these past few days. Drama in the community is never going to cease but if we want to go in the direction that will benefit n00bfest then we have to have a council or whatnot to deal with these people. Plus if I am not mistaken it looks to me like n00bfest is about to expand big time not only into OGL, CAL and the likes, but, also WoW, and with WoW you are talking about a great many number of potential n00bs. So yes for n00bfest.com to have a governing body I think it's a necessity really.
