| Post subject: | So I bought the game... |
I tried a game by myself so I didn't embarrass myself too much on a regular server, and I found out that I am absolutely no good at this game... Is there any plausible reason that I lose to bots on easy? Am I just REALLY, REALLY bad, or do I need to play a bit more? If I keep this up, I might just give up CS:S as soon as I started it... |

drink alot of caffeine and concentrate. seems like a no-sh*t suggestion, but srsly. if your mind isn't in the game and your not focusing, it's over. |

Personally if your having that many problems I'd say your mouse sensitivity is off, probably too fast. |

I'll try lowering the sensitivity, but it's odd... it's like my bullets don't hit them, my only two kills came from one sniper shot at close range, put it into two bots lined up, it cheered me up a little... until I got pistol'd to death by yet another bot on easy Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_13 |

well, I played another short game against bots(on easy again) and it was 2 on 3, 19-10 k:d for me 2-16 for my partner bot, idk, I might hit up the server sometime in the next week... was playing on italy and I was the CT, after dying, spec'ing some of those bots is ridiculous, I feel like a damn retard after getting killed by one |

you should play with people on servers, so you know what to do on the maps and not look like a dumbo standing in one spot shooting :P atleast thats how i was when i first started CZ :P hit me up if you wanna play sometime..we can go to the elite server :D |

Early on someone recommended that I try to get my sensitivity down as low as I could. It's hard to get used to but it will pay off in the end. Also, try to work on strafing and shooting 1-2 shots the instant you stop to strafe the other way. CS:S is weird in that I find a lot of times that standing still to shoot or even ducking to shoot isn't accurate at all. Strafing back and forth not only helps control weapon recoil but it also makes it MUCH harder for the other people to hit you. Another thing, after you've played for a while and think you have to hang of aiming while you're strafing back and forth try to find a server that only registers headshots and plays some sort of aim maps. Getting used to not relying on body shots will really help in the long run. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_15 |

chinababy wrote: thanks for the tips... twice Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_04 No problem man. I should say that crouching isn't a great method unless you have to SPRAY at someone. If you find yourself spraying be sure to crouch to help with recoil! |

yea you should come into the n00bfest server. Playing against people is way different and faster. Your going to get owned thats just the way it goes so might as well get it over with. Best thing to do when first starting playing is to stay behind everyone especially the team flashing retards. When I first started I learned from a cal-m guy, all I did was follow him around every map and was like his support guy trying to keep him alive. So just follow the best guy on your team every round and try to see how he plays and back him up without blocking him. Also, while your dead, you'll be dead a lot) make sure to spec the best players that are still alive to learn where and how to check spots. tip for shooting: the only 2 real guns are the ak/m4 thats just how CS is. Learn to play with those everything else is just a F*CK around spray gun. Also, IF you are going to spray learn how to pull your mouse down while you spray. When you spray a weapon the recoil pulls the rifle up so you have to pull your mouse down to compensate. also, type in console: cl_crosshairscale 3000 I use 4500 and the max is 5500 but it'll help you out. |

A good way to practice your aiming is stack the bots on one team before you start your own server...put like 12 on there and give them knives only. When you join type mp_limitteams 20 in console and you'll be wrecking faces in no time. I did a quick 5 min session of me recording demos of shooting bots, and even in my own server I get no reg. 1/10 hits don't reg, they just go straight through or blood shows but they've taken no damage. You can test your sensitivity by doing reaction shots...just aim away from the bots and as one approaches flick your mouse to where his face is and fire at the same time without taking the time to aim. Yeah, I'm still bad at this game. Yeah, I blame the game. |
