Yeah, if you're going to run gay vista, you will NEED 2 gigs, 1 gig won't cut it. That onboard gfx probably won't run it, but you can give it a shot. Please don't tell me you're actually buying that,. |

Go on ebay buy a GFX card you can get a decent one for 100 bucks. and get your self memory on there also. I bought 3 gigs of Crosiar gaming something for 125.00 on ebay and they work fine and came w a factory warranty I also got my Radeon X1600pro on there for 75$ which runs source fine. |

Don't listen to this advice or else we'll laugh when you try to put a desktop graphics card in a laptop. Save your money and get a desktop computer. Edit: Thank you, Spyda. |

If you want to know, yes a GM965 CAN run CS: Source (Hell I run it using a 965 and get an average of 50-60 fps, you just need to update the drivers). Compared to modern day cards the GM sucks, but it really isn't THAT bad, you just can't play games made in 2006-2007. Not all people can afford to get a desktop PC, some people are stuck with whatever is gifted to them. EDIT: I'm not sure about the 1GB of RAM though (my laptop I play on has 2), it's worth a shot though, and if you're PC is a laptop, you might actually be able to upgrade the RAM on it, depending on the laptop. |

G_I_Joe wrote: If your PC is a laptop? that doesnt make any sense. A laptop is a computer. PC stands for personal computer. PC's don't necessarily have to be desktops (at least IMO). |

This will be my last post as I don't want my first posts to be too argumentative. The only reason I said what I said is that I don't know what the OP's situation is. He could be in the same situation that I am (have a new laptop given to you by relative that has a lot of money, does not have money to invest in gaming rig due to college/other financial issues...and yes you can save, but still, depending on the situation that could take a long while). If he is, simply saying that he needs to buy a $300 dollar video card isn't going to help the OP. The fact of the matter is that the GMA X3100 CAN run CS: Source (even at high settings at around 50-60 fps), which is what the OP was asking about. Granted, it can't handle AA or anything too fancy, but it will get the job done decently. I do agree that if you want to do any serious sort of gaming that you should invest in a Desktop, but if you're just looking to play one game, like CS:S, investing the money into a desktop may not be worth it. Again, I'll quit here. Hello BTW, sorry to start my first few posts off arguing. Hope I wasn't being too much of a jerk. :) |
