The VA shit going alright?? I don't know about how, but I haven't enjoyed my VA experience yet...I'm not broke like you (well....according to the military, at least), so it might be different for you.

Re: F*CKERS.... There was a two month gap between my ETS date, and the time that it took for the VA to kick in. I keep hearing all the horror stories of everyone who had to do the long route of getting VA disability. Just remember they have to back pay you Joe. Since mine was a medical retirement, I was doing all of the leg work while I was still in during the last year. Just hang in there, it will sort itself out.
As for me, I'm loving it here. I have to pinch myself from time to time to make sure it isn't a dream. Being able to do what I want, when I want is awesome. The bad part is dealing with the Social Security office. Seems like even if you're on the permanent disability list, and medically retired, they will deny your claim just to do so. I'm having to start all over with them. :(

Yeah, I missed my opportunity to get "head of the line" VA disability privileges (when you get out, I think you have a 90 day window to get a claim in where its like high priority - I didn't have my marriage cert, SS card or any of the important paperwork besides my DD-214, like an idiot I packed all that up instead of taking it with me), so I'm in the back of the 2-year, at least, waiting line to get my shit looked at.

Re: F*CKERS.... Damn, that's bs man. How long has it been so far? Remember, its going to hit in a giant lump.... back pay, then the next month it just starts up. That's what happened to me. A couple months of back pay, then it was paid monthly from then on.
Btw, keep in mind that its not taxable or considered income. And also keep in mind what two years of back pay at once is going to look like... Don't spend it all on anal lube and black 15" dildos :P
