So......just wondering how many members here actually target shoot in real life? I have been an avid rifle and pistol shooter for over 20 years and was curious if there were any other shooters out there? Don't say COD as being another shooter.....

I'm an avid shooter. I go at least once a month. I generally shoot skeet for an hour or two, then move to rifles for an hour or two, and spend about an hour shooting pistols every time I go. I have a pretty decent collection of close to 20 firearms, including a decent selection of antique military firearms, and have 3 reloading presses that I use to load my own rounds. My favorite rifles are my M1903's, but I just bought an M1 Garand that I'm sure I'll love too.

Cool! I also have a 1903 and M1 Garand along with a host of other rifles. My main pistol caliber is 45ACP and have a selection of M1911A1s to go with them. I want to reload but just don't have space or the knowledge.

I have two 1903's -- a Springfield Mark II and a Remington 03-A3. I love them, and I shoot them the most. I just picked up the Garand last week and haven't fired it yet, but it's a Springfield made in 1941 in pretty damn good shape.

I have a few pistols but don't own any 1911s. I have two CZ-75 clones: a Springfield P9 chambered in 9mm and a Tanfoglio Witness chambered in 10mm auto. I need to buy a 1911 but I just don't like the feel of them. Maybe if I bought one and shot it a good bit I'd like it more.

I shoot at least once every 2 weeks with my carry pistol. I get out about once a month with rifles and other pistols. We shoot clay in the summer sometimes once a week.

I usually go once a week and practice with my mulitude of 1911's I can choose from (I love em). I also own several other pistol types and design. I just started to work on rifles so I go at least once to twice a month on those. I need to learn to reload brass!!! lol

i usually shoot every week but not always but i have a range at my house so its easy to just walk out back and cut a few lose.reloading is fairly easy but to get started its expensive because u can start with a single stage press but you wont be happy and then buy a progressive press and that cost real money for a good one.

I had a progressive press first and then got a single-stage because I found that the progressive press wasn't precise enough and I wanted precision out of my .30-06 rounds.

while i do not reload my self my friend does and i haven't had any accuracy issues with the ammo he does for me ,but this guy has a progressive press that cost about 900 for the press alone plus its just target rounds so i am not trying to shoot competition with them.when i hunt i use Remington core-locts most of my shots are around 100 yrds i rarely shoot over 300 mostly because the landscape does not allow it.

Yeah, I heard that single stage reloading is the best to start for someone new to reloading. I am shooting so much factory made ammo that it is financially difficult for me! This is why I really need to learn to do reloads. If I could learn to reload 7.62 x 51, 5.56 x 45, and 30-06 and I would be happy.

buy a Lee Breech Lock kit for $125 and a set of dies for $30-40 and you're set up to reload.

For .30-06, we (my brother, Strange, and I) use Hornady InterLock bullets and IMR-4895 powder with CCI 200 primers.

I have been hoarding brass for about 5 years anticipating our new house that will provide more room to set up a reloading bench.

I have been saving brass now for about only 2 weeks (late starter) and it grows fast! I heard that if I choose not to reload, I could sell the brass online to other reloaders. That sounds good too!

I've had guys at the range offer to buy brass from me. I provide brass to a guy who reloads for me and I get it on the cheap.

yeah try going to a range and meeting so fellow gun nuts and find some one like my buddy who will work a deal with you like my buddy i buy the powder primers and projectiles and he keeps 10% of the finished product in exchange for the labor .just an idea that works good for me

If I, say, wanted to start reloading .45ACP for my 1911, what should I go with? So Lee is a good brand? Do you need a vibratory cleaner to clean the brass, or are those really more for convenience and/or high volume operations?

Lee isn't the "best," but they're not the "bottom dollar" brand either. I like Lee simply because their presses/dies aren't ridiculously expensive and they get the job done. I've had a few parts break on my Lee Loadmaster progressive reloading press but Midway USA carries pretty much all the parts for it and they ship to me super-fucking-fast -- standard UPS ground from them arrives at my house in 2 days.

You really don't need anything other fancy to clean your brass. Vibratory cleaners just save time. I have a vibratory cleaner and an ultrasonic cleaner that I use.
