Ginzu wanted me to pass a warning to everyone
Don't click any links you might receive on steam friends from his account.
I'm sure he will elaborate when he gets the chance.
That is all.

How exactly does this happen? The only thing I could think of is someone guessing the password (shouldn't be easy) or if you actually gave someone the password.

Someone sends you a message on steam friends saying "Please join this steam group for me. If X ppl join, I'll get some free thing"
They give a link. The link opens a page in the Steam browser that looks like a steam community login page. You enter your login credentials, and you're hacked.

LOL, naw dawg, my ip address from home is blocked from this site.
Damn i thought he was my friend, but hell could have been another dude that hacked his account.
Anyways, you click the link and you like kind of log in the webpage with your credentials and it says that your info was put correctly, i knew i was going to get my steam account stolen, so i try´ed desperately to change my account password and secret question, but i couldnt find how to change both of them (later to figure out it was on the settings tab). It took the F*CKER from 5 to 10 minutes to change my account password and email.
Im now in the process of getting it back, i posted some evidence proving myself that i was the owner of that account, im just waiting for the support to help me out here, lets see how much it takes.

Now I'm so glad that I never clicked on any of the invitations (I get 1 or 2 every day) :) Ginzu wrote: Vision wrote: How does someone hacking his steam acct prevent him from posting on n00bfest?

That happened to me a while back. Somehow, if you view the profile of someone who is banned from the website, it thinks you're attacking the site and bans you.
