Anyone seen this flick yet? Is it worth shelling out the cash or is it a renter?

Well, the way they film it makes it a non-renter, but the long slow story line amost makes it not worth seeing. It's an ok film, and it was shot in a way that really made it seem 3d at times. Just plan on sitting for a while, it's 3 hours long.

I heard both good and bad things. I'm going to go see it soon and I'll let you know then, but it all goes with taste of movies; whether you like action or a well developed story. It would probably be better to wait for the directors cut to rent.

It has both action and a well developed story, however, the ending is kind of rushed / terrible.




2 hours and 45 minutes is very good, considering the graphic novel is 430 pages long and the motion picture was 5 and a half hours long.

As long as they stick to the storyline of the comics I'll be happy when I see it. If you understand the comic and what the creators of the COMIC were trying to portrait with these characters you might be able to appreciate the movie a little more. Unless they really messed up the movie.

I thought it was an awesome movie. It's a movie you only watch once, but one you want to see in theaters.

Unless you have a 42 inch LCD TV with surround sound and your setting 4 feet away from it then you can watch it at home. O yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Well, to be fair, the comic was rather long-winded as well. It's easier to do something like that in a comic because, well, people are going into that expecting to do some reading. This was marketed to most people as an action film, and for those who have never read the comic, they wouldn't realize that the story never really had that many action scenes in comparison to something like the 300. The meat of it was in the dialog and the development in the characters and the story.

I had a feeling either one of two things would happen with this movie:
a) people would go in and enjoy it as a good action movie, which would mean that they didn't bother to stay true to the comic or
b) people would go in expecting an action movie and come out disappointed.

While I haven't seen the film myself, it seems like the latter is happening a little more.
