Alright, so the one I have now has kind of lost its way. I need:

Loud: I would like to be deaf before I hit 30.
Mic: Noise cancelling, hopefully not detachable
Comfort: Cushy, over the ear, over the head band (not behind the neck)

Also, able to be purchased online and shippable to Canada in the $50 - $100 price range.

Suggestions?

i had the logitech one, liked it alot, broke it within 2 months (but that is just me, i am extremely bad at taking good care of my stuff). the razer is definitely the best. i dont like the way the creative one looks, but that is just my opinion.

This is what I have, I paid about $40 a few years back though. Works great, nice and loud not to much mic noise. Long cord, USB (some dislike but I prefer it) Pretty comfortable on my melon to.

I have the Fatal1ty headset. They're cozy and fairly comfortable. Here's what I don't like about em: I have fairly large ears, and the cushioned part of the headset rest on my outer ears and make them sore when I wear them for extended periods. They don't cancel out a lot of noise either, when my wife is watching the TV, I can hear it through the game.

Here is a newb question. My laptop does not have a usb port coming directly from the soundcard. It has four smaller ports and the headset I currently have now has two prongs that connect into the output/mic ports. I can't plug a usb headset into any old usb port can I?

Also...I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy these unless somebody has any other suggestions.

I have a USB headset and can plug it into any USB port I want.

Your computer will treat the headset like it's a separate sound card though (at least from what I hear, I can't really verify that. I'm sure someone who knows more about how USB headsets work will come in, call me out and go from there. I do know though that you can't unplug it while in game and plug it back in. You have to stop the game and restart it if you want to plug it back in).

Ah, thanks. That opens up my options then because it looks like the better headphones are USB. I'm fine with having it plugged in because mine are almost always plugged in anyways and I have other devices that do the same thing (controller).

If you've got a decent sound card, get a regular analog headset. I suggest getting Sennheiser PC160's if you can find them. They're the best damn headphones I've ever used. I bought them in 2005 and I still use them.

If you've got onboard sound or some junk sound card, then I don't see a problem with using USB... but real pro's don't use USB headsets.

that's the one i got, I wouldn't recommend it if you're considering the other ones. It's not too loud and it doesnt have much bass to it

I've got these, mic works good, audio is good for music and such, but it really shows its true colors when gaming. Great surround sound and bass is amazing due to the force feedback, grenade goes off and your head almost starts to shake!

I was very close to picking up a pair of the fatal1ty headphones but wasn't impressed with the plastic-like build of them, so I went with a sweet pair of Plantronic closed-ear gaming headphones. I tried them out earlier and am very impressed with them. Playing Warhammer I heard things that I didn't even know were there before and the mic appears to work great in vent. Also, very comfortable and cover the whole ear and easy to adjust.

Now lets see how they stand up over time. Being Plantronic they should do me well.

When I started playing CS 1.3 I used the PLantronics Audio .90 headset. It lasted me through 5 years of constant use and occasional throwing against the wall/floor. After I finally broke it I got another Plantronics Audio .90 and it has lasted me for 3 years now with no issues. It only cost me $30 US too.

As for specs, they have cushions on ears and top of the head, sound is great, and the mic is noise cancelling and very clear.

i have Fatal1ty headset but i cant get it to work on my comp so i just us my usb headphones which i love and have had for almost 6 months and they still work great

I had the Logitech broke in 1 month. The one i currently have is also Plantronics i got it for $20 on boxing day the price went up to $60

Deafness: they can go loud (feels like it has it's own base sometimes)

Mic: Mic is great and clear

Comfort: OHH YAA! They are F*CKING comfortable and they don't F*CK up my hair if it's like gelled my older brother has Saitek Cyborg 5.1 Surround Sound Headset and he got these just cause there that comfortable.

I suggest any CA headset with a over the ear or around the ear cussion. CA is real good with thoir audion devices.

CA is a cheep wally world stuff descent for the price but breaks really easy had 3 and 2 of them did the same thing didn't let my 3rd one go that far took better care of it.

I agree that CA headsets are kind of cheap but they get the job done and i know that platonics are ok but not as good as logitech. If your on a budget then just get what doublesven suggests but i have the CA HS-400 Headset.
