Post Wtf is this shit.
I was cleaning my desktop today and various temp files, cookies etc.

Cleaned away a good 10GB off my Hard drive, put the rest of the shit in a folder.
My desktop now looks like this:

Omg... a bee. whatever.

Here's my problem:
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1100/negromr0.png

There's this one particular folder I thought I deleted through uTorrent last year with the Remove Torrent + All files option or something like that. It was meant to be a torrent giving me some sort of album I was looking for... didn't turn out well... I guess?

The folder is approximately 1GB, cannot be opened or deleted, and lacks the right click options given here. Cannot be drag and dropped either. My friend says its possibly a virus or some shit that clogs up my ram/internet, as I've been having problems lately, however I'd like some feedback from various people before I reformat. (Also have a keylogger installed somehow. I right click and select "End Process Tree" thus raping it + 2 other things. And various other problems)

Posted in General since no one goes to the Tech forum.

Cheers.

solution:

restart computer> once the computer is turning on (and before you get to the windows logo) press F8>
you will get a boot menu asking how you would like to start up windows> select safe mode (or safe mode w/ networking if you want internet access)> if asked, select your operating system> once at the log on screen, select administrator> youll get an error message stating ur starting in safe mode> select yes> delete the file

restart to return to normal.

If you cant find the file while logged on as admin just log on as your normal profile.

1.- Delete the utorrent and re-install it, probably the folder is being in use and thats why you cant delete it, althought it would let you right click or copy paste it, so the behavior your describing its something of more maliscious nature. Or probably if its spyware or malware its communicating to someone so its being in use thus cant be deleted.

2.- Try the method sox told you first before doing this step, try deleting the folder in safe mode using cmd (if windows).

3.- If it didnt work well, try entering safe mode but this time put it in "NON internet connected", this will avoid the software interacting with the dude whos infected you, and use a virus/spyware/malware/greyware/trojan (update the virus database for each before entering safe mode) or some anti-viral tool, and scan your shit. If it tells you is infected get rid of the F*CKING thing.

4.- Format c:

5.- Toss your PC into your hoven.

6.- Put your penis into the disk tray.

If safe mode fails, use a boot off of a Knoppix CD and wipe the sucker using linux. It doesn't matter how good of a windows virus you have it's can't do shit when you aren't running windows.
