Post Let's talk about news that isn't news.
First topic from CBS radio news at 9:00 AM EDT:

Seventeen magazine was surprised to find out that their readers say they feel horrible about their body image. Seventeen magazine says they don't understand why because girls shouldn't feel that way.

Discuss.

Or Discus.

Either way.

Post-Ryan Edit: And please do be as insensitive as possible.

I read Seventeen magazine, and I feel great about my body. I can understand though. Most other girls who read Seventeen are anorexic/bulimic. Maybe if they weren't constantly binging and purging, they'd feel better about themselves.

The people that read Seventeen magazine are probably the same people that are infatuated with the latest celebrity gossip. Besides, what else are they supposed to do with all that food in their stomachs they don't eat, let it sit there and build up? And if they don't look good how are they supposed to date any of those shallow guys or the lonely ones that just go for personalities. There's no other way around it all. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_32

The mag its self and the media in general perpetuates those feelings so how about we give a big F*CK you to the media for telling us whats beautiful and whats not? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder not some fag who runs a shity mag or some emo slut on the latest "reality" tv show...

Seventeen should come with extra thin paper so the magazine itself can be used for /wrist

Seventeen's readers are for the most part...17 ish and quite easily influenced...... they see these skinny, airbrushed, perfect-looking girls and want to be just like them (not to mention the celebrity influence)...then it doesn't help when guys see these skinny, airbrushed, perfect-looking girls and say "damn she's hot!" well of course the readers are going to feel bad about their bodies and turn to anorexia and/or bulemia. even people who are comfortable with their bodies will at least once or so, look at a model and think, " i wish i had abs like that" or whatever. it's not so easy to say F*CK what "some fag who runs a shity mag or some emo slut" thinks about what we should look like. and yes i know that even though guys will say "damn she's hot" to some model/actress/slut, not all guys expect their chick to look exactly like these models/actresses/sluts *cough* lindsay lohan *cough*......so there's my opinion.......okay i'll get off my soapbox now.
