Ultrasonic cleaners cost about 3x the price of vibratory cleaners. Get what you can afford. Ultrasonic cleaners aren't as noisy and clean shit a little faster, but you have to wait for your brass to dry. With vibratory cleaners, you have to shake the media and shit out of them. They both have their ups and downs. I use the ultrasonic cleaner to clean small gun parts, too, which is the added bonus of having one.

And yeah, punch your primers before you clean your brass.

Well, I just got me an upper in 300AAC BLK for my new AR build. Damn, I just got me another caliber and mouth to feed. I can't stop though cause I love to just put these rifles together in all different configurations.

It's funny you mention .300 AAC blackout. It's a 5.56mm case necked up to seat a .308 diameter bullet in it. I was bored in my garage, where I have plenty of 5.56mm cases and .308 diameter bullets, so I took some punches and a hammer and stretched out the neck of a piece of .223 brass to the point that I could seat a .308 caliber Hornady Match bullet in it, stuck it in the press to fully seat it, and this happened:



The F*CKING neck buckled in on itself (lol). There's no powder and primer in it -- I just wanted to see if I could make .300 blackout if I wanted to. Apparently, I can't unless I want them to look like they have foreskin and not be able to chamber.

GMan, that is very interesting. I assume that you have the correct dies for it? Perhaps you have to buy the 7.62 x 35 brass that you need to reload that caliber?

After further investigation, I can do it with .223 brass but it's a bit harder than I thought. I don't own any weapons chambered in .300blk and don't intend on it any time soon. I was merely doing it for novelty value.

Ah ok. I've been trying to find someone who has shot the 300AAC to get some impressions on the round but I can't seem to locate anyone that has in my area (NJ). This is funny because this caliber has rocketed out of the starting gate like a Saturn VI rocket since it was released. For a round that is extremely well thought of, it is weird that I can't seem to find anyone who has a weapon chambered for it.

Its still pretty new, eventually you will see more and more platforms supporting it. I love the ballistics but weary on adding another caliber to my arsenal. I like to keep things simple.

Yeah, the round did get really popular really fast. The reason I don't own one is because right now, my focus is collecting antique weapons rather than modern weapons. If I was still in modern-weapon buying-mode then I'd probably be picking one up with a suppressor because of how easy the round is to suppress, but as I said, modern guns aren't my focus right now.

A 10 for small game, duck, pheasant and clays? I don't want to go hunting with you, I enjoy eating my game not blowing it up. We use 10's for geese but that is about it. I tried deer hunting with a 10gauge once but the dam slugs are so heavy my range was limited to about 50 yards.

It sure was but it was made before the 12, when the 12 was made the 10 almost became extinct. It wasn't until waterfowl hunting became more popular that it made its return.

Well, finally got my 300AAC upper in and gave it a test ride. Awesome round. Accurate with a heavy 115 gr 7.62 bullet but with the light recoil of a 5.56. Everything is stock 5.56 parts on the rifle except the barrel of the upper. I am well pleased!
