Melbourne Shuffle - and drug debate! *update*
Melbourne shuffle original started in the late 1970s in the Melbourne underground in Melbourne Australia. In the old days it was typical a jazz dance steps incorporated with a modern twist. The dance contains different basic steps as Sliding, Running man, spins and kicks. But as time went off, the music style started to change and the dance as well. Shuffling has always been really popularly in Melbourne’s Nightlife. In 1990 when electronic music got popular, the dance change massive and started to be a more electronic dance. And since 2000 when hardstyle was discovered, the dance change for real to what it is today
Been practising for 3 weeks now, but it takes a life to master :p
Try and see some of these vids.

Drug Problems
There is a huge drug problem doing hardstyle events. Drugs have sadly become a part of: living on the edge with hardstyle. There are a lot of people that is doing drugs, and I know quite a lot myself. I think people are doing drugs so they can keep going all the night, and doesn’t start falling asleep at 01:00 because he/she is too drunk ect. It’s sad in my opinion, that people can’t have fun without drugs. There is a rumour about that its legal to do drugs at some big hardstyle party’s ECT: Defcon 1, Qlimax and Sensation Black/White. But that is defiantly not true. The organizer of the event is doing everything they can, to keep drugs outside the party’s. Even in demark they body search every single guy/girl that’s entering the club at hardstyle party’s. And they also have staff to go around and look for people that looks like they are affected on drugs. I think that the organizer of the events have big responsibility in stopping drugs getting to the events. It’s hard to keep people from doing drugs before getting to the clubs, but they should do everything to stop illegal business with drugs at the clubs. I think is realistic to keep drugs outside the clubs, but as I already said, u can’t keep people from doing drugs before they get to the club. It’s a huge problem, and I think that almost 50%+ am doing drugs at hardstyle party’s. They could start making blood test on everyone that’s entering, to check if they are on drugs, but that would cost loads of money to do, and the clubs is going to lose a lot of money by doing something like that.
There are a lot of people that’s addicted to the lifestyle. Getting wasted every weekend, and living on the edge with drugs. Traveling all-around the world to be a part of the big hardstyle event. There is a text by made by Showtek that is called FTS that says: This is what I love, and can't stop lovin'. Get wasted at parties, from 9 till 7 in the morning. I live for the music, rollin' blunts, feelin' high, gettin' loaded - or take some pills and go to La La Land. Spendin' all my money on dope and extreme high price tickets. But in the end, it's all worth it. I like to live in my own world. F*CK regular life! F*CK the '9-to-5' job! I'm totally enjoyin' every moment, every hour, every minute. Thats what I do at Fridays and Saturdays. Why should I take life so seriously? I just want to do, what I like to do! Be far from reality, 'cause I can't stand society! It's my own world, I just want to hear the music. I think the whole system F*CKING sucks. Everybody’s working their F*CKING ass up during the week, getting totally F*CKING stressed out - So what's wrong, and what's right? I live for the weekend, I live for hardstyles, I live for hardstyle baby! Come on! Let's go!

Reminds me of a Samsung commercial.
I don't know if they are running the ad over the pond so here it is.

as for the music meh...It mainly sounds like BG music for old school side scoller games. The exception is the techno remix of Carmena Burrana <sp> O'fortuna.

Back when I was a young pup, I could dance like that. Of course, I grew up in the 80's with old school rap too, heh.

weird as hell but kinda cool.
It'd be better if they combined that with regular break-dancing.

Much more than that :)
U have to time every step so ur foot hits the floor exactly the same time as the bass.
This is some vids that shows some of the basic moves and when u get better and better u can put more into ur shuffling.
Basic: http://youtube.com/watch?v=P3evoNeD45g

wins.
and as for the drugs thing.. dude, people need to face facts. where ever there is techno and a rave scene, drugs will follow. techno/dance clubs are the best enviornment for those drugs. 1. if someone were to OD then they would be somewhat safe as opposed to being out in a corn field. 2. the attitude of those clubs and scenes are much more different than other clubs. other clubs are full of thugs or people who try to be. if someone wants to be on drugs at a club then let them. they are the ones who have to face the music after the drugs have worn off not you.
