Also you never go wrong with chili. With meat or without, with a lot of beans and if you add some TVP to it, it's one hell of a good source of protein, fiber, vitamin C and iron (which a lot of people lack in their food every week). There again, like the hobo stew, you can make a huge portion, freeze it and eat for lunches.

Beans is something you should think about adding more into your meals. Just imagine what it could be good with and just add some. It doesn't change the taste of the meal, it just adds a lot of consistency to it and you can eat a smaller portion for the same amount of energy and nutrients.

And btw congrats on trying to cook healthier. Nowadays people just try to eat less or add some vegetables with some greasy meal and call it healthy.

Post Re: Looking for some good healthy recipes.
I've got two really good recipes for chili. Shit's boss. I've been putting black beans in pretty much all meals (that I can actually work them into). The turkey black bean enchiladas that I made last time I didn't have very much turkey to finish the meal. So I just threw all of the ingredients together without it and made taco salad with it instead. I made 15 bean soup the other day and italian turkey soup with white beans as well. The only downside to beans is the fiber. God damn fiber.

I actually purchased an application that I track my calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates on. It gives me a range that I should aim for every day to achieve the goals that I want. It also gives me how many calories/minutes I should be burning/working out each week. So it's helped a lot with setting short-term goals. And I've actually pushed myself to keep up with it for the majority. I just felt like I was cooking the same thing. Even though it's healthy and OK to eat every week. I wanted more variety. Most of what you guys have provided here has given me some ideas. So I'm thankful for that and appreciate it a lot. :)

I've been getting really excited about cooking new things (much to Strange's excitement and dismay). I've been bugging him about finding recipes that he wants to try but he isn't as excited about it as I am. LOL.

Well he could use some healthy food as well *cough*

You'll get used to eating that much fiber, takes some weeks though.

there is no nudity whatsoever, and it has to do with cooking. so it's not off topic, just... a little off.

Eating healthy sucks. Every time I start to, I can't keep doing it. I can't eat salad. I hate raw veggies. So I end up pretty much eating chicken breast and broccoli every night haha.

I don't eat raw veggies, really. I bake, steam, or grill them. If you need some good recipes, Apex, I have some that are healthy and not boring. Lol.

If you don't like raw veggies, don't eat raw veggies. Eating healthier doesn't mean eating raw veggies and cooking recipes for hours.

I still eat bacon, hamburgers and tourtiere pretty often. But, I include a lot of salads (with or without lettuce), beans and nuts during the day and lots of fruits and veggies. Why don't you try to add many different colors to your plate with your broccoli? The more colorful it is, the healthier it'll tend to be, and that is 100% true.

Then think about where you could cut some useless fat. You don't really need to drink the bacon fat in a cup afterward or put 1 cup of butter on your toasts in the morning. It's all those tiny things that one day will make a huge difference on your health. I've been vegetarian for 4 months this winter. I'm not anymore simply because I still love the taste of meat, but cutting on most of it has made me feel so good, I've never felt so energetic before and that is because I cut on a lot of fat.

Give it a shot!

One of my favorite and really easy recipes that is healthy is Chicken and noodles.

Its simple

Slice half an onion and leave the rings together put on bottom of heated frying pan and give light sear. Add water, maybe a cup (sometimes will use a bit of chicken stock for some addl flavor if I have some) bring to a boil and add two chicken breasts. I will add some seasoning depending on what I feel like garlic salt or italian seasoning etc. thats a to taste kind of thing.

Boil the onions and chicken together till the chicken is cooked through. then slice the chicken

I do whole grain noodles for my base or Cous cous if I am feeling fancy.

Put the noodles down, sliced chicken on top with onions. add some diced tomatoes and a light sprinkle of cheese.

And chow.

Sometimes I steam broccoli or asparagus to go with it if it looks good at the store.

a real basic safe meal for your diet that tastes good.

Please don't just eat fruit...and don't eat too much fruit. It's natural sugar, but it's still sugar and will increase your insulin, which will limit your fat burning for those on a diet for that reason. Not all fruits and veggies are created equal either. They have different glycemic indices and break down differently in your body.

Dating back to neanderthals (who were larger and thought to be much healthier than humans) up to modern remote tribes, the hunter/gatherer types seem to be much healthier and fit overall. We started getting smaller (particularly our heads) when we started consuming wheat, which actually obstructs our ability to absorb nutrients.

There are several ways to lose weight quickly that are not good for your body in the long term. For long term health it's best to go with lean meats and veggies with a low glycemic index for meals and nuts and berries for snacks to maintain your body's energy.

That being said... F diets. I hate them. I am trying to eat better, but I need a damn cookie NAO! I actually crave sweets more now than I ever have.
