I've done my research. phpBB and mySQL are the best forums/databases around.

They're the most powerful, without a doubt. This site would run a lot faster and smoother on a linux server, that's for damn sure. I downloaded windows ports of linux programs to get the server to parse the php.

I once asked a guy that ran a forum with around 5,000 members what kind of bandwidth he was using, and it got around 80-90gb/month in transfer. I'm thinking we can go problem-free with 30-40gb/month, but I'm not certain.

yesh... but can we transfer our existing database without losing all our history? We can't have that lost, holmes.

I could get something worked out on the player stats too. I would probably just move the logs from one to the other on a weekly basis and run the update from the webserver.

If I was on broadband, I could probably move the whole site to a new server and have it running fine in about two hours.

The stats, however, might be tricky. JagPC doesn't give out remote desktop connections, and I'm not sure that the stat-reading program would run on the linux server.

What I could do, though, is keep the stats thing installed on the CH.com server, and teach you (Corpse) how to do a database-dump and show you how to insert the database information to a different server. This way, you could run the update and it would file all the information how it needs to go, then you dump it all into a text file and paste that into a web-interface, click a button.. and BLAM! It's all on a different server.

This'd be much easier to do next time I come pay you guys a visit, Corpsie.
